There's no chance they don't capitalize on 3am vinyl. That's easily another 1-2 weeks at #1 (plus god knows how much in total album units).

I think the vinyl factories are busy with Speak Now TV + The 3AM edition would require 2 vinyl. I'm really not sure we are getting them, but that would probably secure Midnights to be 7X platinum by the end of the year.

I don’t understand her and her team sometimes. They clearly care about being #1 pulling the embarrassing stunts yet sit on **** that would actually give her longevity instead of just a quick boost like the LH MV, 3am vinyl or even CDs, more signed copies. She’s getting lazy and I’m glad she will get clowned for it because she clearly still cares. Push the second single heavy and close the gap with streaming units that will be better for longevity in the long run but oh well.

Anyways, 11 weeks with over 100k units, has she surpassed UVST yet? And what was the highest 11th week recently?

UVST did 98k in its 11th week

The way we have to endure online bullying bc of her stunts is annoying. Lemme just ignore this website for a week.

AH is going back to #1 tomorrow so this OTH 'win' will only last a day

In other news, Midnights is still leading the BB200 race for 2023 BB200 YEC #1 by a gap of roughly 700K. SOS shouldn’t overcome that huge gap, given it’s barely out-performing Midnights’ 11th week during its 4th. I think Midnights will easily take the YE #1, unless we have another UVST pop up this year.

Also, I think they filtered the digital sales. The number doesn’t make sense any other way, because she logged over 10k orders on her site during that time period. Her team probably assumed having different recordings attached to each would make them all count, but Billboard probably still considered them just cover variations of the same album. It would make perfect since why she ‘only’ added +10K from the initial 107K and the sales were so much lower than HDD predicted.

She’s only 10k units behind UVST with this week’s sales update. Will surpass him this week and hopefully clear 3.5M total units as well.

103k 11th week, 98k 12th week

Interested to see this week's numbers. I think HDD may have overestimated her physical copies

At this point she should really open up her own factory bc :rip:

This was mainly due to the very high pure sales this week that no one really expected post-Christmas tho plus the digital covers gimmicks too to some extent.

We have yet to see if this was a one time thing or if we can expect Midnights to continue to sell highly in pure sales for the next weeks.

If it doesn't tho, the gap will grow significantly since SOS is barely dropping in SEA units + she still has the deluxe and physical CDs/vinyl coming.

A 3AM drop would probably seal the deal for Midnights, but without it it's probably not as much of a surefire thing. SZA is outperforming every expectation out there right now, so don't count her out just yet…

SZA will most likely take up the rest of the weeks at number 1

I think the YE #1 is pretty much locked. The only worry was the album collapsing after the holiday season a la 30, which didn't happen. UVST was #1 with just under 3M units and she'll need an average of 35k per week to match that

What I'm more interested about is how AH will perform. Hopefully the tour gives it a nice boost and radio doesn't drop it completely. I think it has a decent shot at being her highest peaking YE Hot 100 song. If only its first two weeks didn't go to waste

Taylor still has multiple chances to be #1 with Midnights unless she guts the Era with SNTV. :alexz3: she definitely should be doing more for Midnights than what she's currently doing tho.

I agree! Although I think her idea of doing more for Midnights is prioritizing rehearsals for one of the biggest tours ever. I can’t fault that too much. The Eras Tour is something that will make her way more money and help further cement her legacy :celestial5:

They definitely filtered the digital sales, so those only added around 10K. The sales suddenly collapsing would make no sense if they didn’t collapse this week, probably one of the worst sales weeks of the year. Considering all of this, Midnights is extremely stable as well. It would need to fall hard enough for SOS to be regularly doubling its weekly units for SZA to have a shot at taking the YE #1. That’s not going to happen, so there being a 10-20k difference each week isn’t enough to close the gap with all the boosts Midnights will have coming up.

But point is: even if Taylor doesn’t do the 3am physicals, SZA is not closing that 700k gap :rip: Midnights will see a great boost from the tour most likely and SZA is stable but will absolutely continue to fall, slowly, but she will. That’s just how it works.
By the time tour starts Midnights will be doing around the same as SOS weekly or maybe more if the boost is bigger than expected. And the gap will not have been closed during that time period.

ngl...this is upsetting lol. Still another week above 100k which is awesome and clocking in all those units to get to 4x platinum sooner than later but still...kinda bitter lol. Like This album is NEXT level massive and it will only end up getting like 5 weeks? meh...

Yeah, I'm upset as well. She went so hard for Folklore, doing the most to get all those weeks at #1, while it seems like she doesn't care about Midnights at all. Saddening tbh

Right?! That said I am not in agreement with ppl saying she should give the Lavender Haze mv. She already gave us two videos to enjoy and Anti-Hero is still smashing. The Lavender Haze mv should come when we will be in a even bigger drought in early February! That would be the perfect time. For now, it would be nice to get those 3AM CDs since Vinyl seems unlikely but yeah...seems like that won't happen at all :/

The most frustrating part about this is I forsee SZA snatching all these upcoming weeks at #1 beating Taylor by such small margins like these past two weeks....THAT's annoying. If it was like big 40k+ gaps I would not care but when it is THIS close...it makes it harder to swallow :'(

Furthermore, even if she gets more weeks at #1 much later on I'll always think about how massive her residency at #1 could have been without all the competition. UGH :'(

Anyone else think Blondie might have gone soft? Like maybe she saw SZA's cute tweet about liking Taylor and Midnights and that compelled Tay to ask her team to not report the full digital download sales? ( :eli: ). After Drake dog pilling on her, maybe she appreciated that SZA didn't do that and was like..."let her have it"? :eli:

I know I know...SZA won by her own merits ugh :'(

Allegedly it’s the biggest 11th week for an album since 1989. Not stating that as a fact, but I saw that being said, so someone please correct me if I’m wrong lol.

So yeah it’s huge and weeks at #1 don’t matter that much, especially when the BB200 YEC #1 is likely locked, but it’s just annoying because this could easily be/have been her longest-running #1 album or at least her third to clear 10 weeks. Maybe it can still happen if they get their **** together though.

11th week:

1989 - 155k

25 - 106k

UVST - 103k

Scorpion - 71k

Dangerous - 66k

week 11 :

Midnights : 117k

reputation (26k) + Lover (34k) + folklore (33k) + evermore (24k) = 117k

I was actually just now going through and looking to rule out any other options :swan:

Here’s a bigger list:

1989 — 155,000
Midnights — 117,000
25 — 106,000
Un Verano Sin Ti — 103,000
Views — 92,000
Scorpion — 71,000
Hollywood’s Bleeding — 69,000
Dangerous: Double Album — 66,000
Harry’s House — 46,000
Lover — 34,000
30 — 34,000
Folklore — under 34,000
reputation — 26,000

Really puts into perspective how massive Midnights is :deadbanana4: and still would’ve been 107,000 without the digitals I guess, so still #2 behind 1989
