RussianRoulette Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I'll never have a house that close to a big river lke that. R.I.P.
princedonte Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) RIP. Climate change is scary. Edited August 27, 2022 by princedonte
Infatuation_Junkie Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 and people say climate change is not a thing…
shinyshimmery Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 It looks like the structure was built on dirt inches away from the river. Gee I wonder why it washed away. Erosion is a thing.... and this was human error. RIP to the victims, they trusted the architects/engineers who came up with such a stupid plan.

OP: The horrible thing is that we produce less than 1% of the world's total carbon emissions, and these areas weren't even particularly industrialised. Our people are paying for crimes they didn't even commit.
AMIT Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 a true tragedy, I can't even imagine what's been like living there right now.
flower moon Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 seen so many vids on tiktok today of this. a lot of scary scenes. it's seems atm that if there isn't a heatwave there's flooding.
Chemist Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 Absolutely devastating tragedy. Climate related refugees are going to be the new war refugees
AlanRickman1946 Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Is it true that one third of Pakistan is under water? Any Pakistani ATRL-ers can comment?
katara Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Not only did western countries brutally colonize the world for millenia but now the after effects of their rule/legacy (aka climate change) will mostly f**k up countries that are poor and didn't contribute to emissions
Ms. Togekiss Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Apparently you can see from space how the rains created a lake in the middle of Pakistan

ZIVERT Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 This is so scary. Hopefully it wakes us up about the dangers of climate change, and that relief will swiftly be brought to Pakistan. Just so sad. Praying for them
Katy V.! Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 So upsetting that we aren't seeing massive support from the rest of the world
