I think this is an awful idea

However, I am old enough/from somewhere rural enough that this was allowed the entire time I was in high school and I elected this punishment over detention every time I was in trouble I just did not care enough

Where I’m from in Texas the school district administered paddle punishment for everyone all the way into high school, people just lined up to get hit and sent back to class, absolutely had no idea there was controversy about it?

And the reputation of the US takes a paddling with that change, and every other insanely backwards move taking place right now. Corporal punishment, particularly of children, has no place in a modern civilized society.

But keep voting republican I guess…

This is cruel and unusual.

And it's totally going to screw up all these kids.
