Reverse Warholian Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Spoiler The MRI scene. Finally a semi-decent scare
Reverse Warholian Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) 3/4 deep. Far too much exposition and amateur acting. Only one decent scare so far. How did this end up smashing? Edited August 2, 2023 by Reverse Warholian 1
Reverse Warholian Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 (edited) I finally brought myself to finish the last 15 minutes just now and I am almost at a loss for words. The Riverdale writing, entire scenes taking place over the phone, the dream logic plot, the original characters phoning in every one of their lines, the annoying new characters, Patrick Wilson's end credits single wtf, and most importantly the lack of good scares, I-... Spoiler The MRI scene was dope tho. Edit: Even with lowered expectations going in, I think this may end up rivalling Halloween Ends for the worst mainstream horror film this decade. @SitarHero @lillavend3r Edited August 5, 2023 by Reverse Warholian
zasderfght Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 This was by far the worst Insidious and the most boring. I actually think the first is overrated, but I at least understood the appeal. I disliked 2 and 4, but at least they weren't "boring." I actually really like 3, and I actually think it's the scariest of the five. But yeah, this was just awful and not scary. I'm kind of mad I saw a matinee of this.

publikcitizen Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 i think the strongest point of the film was the father son dynamic. it carried the film. i also really liked the eerie tone throughout with dalton's dad haunting him. overall it was still a servicable horror film. 1

killer_rose Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 How did this do so well in numbers? The movie was absolutely horrible, barely any scares. A disgrace to Insidious 1 & 2. 1
Bacardo Royale Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 I don't get the hate for this movie, I was entertained from start to finish. Sure it was giving a little more dramedy than horror this time round but it still had the Insidious charm.
Kakihara Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Never heard about this, I did hear about 4.but I've only watched till 3.
