they did this ONLY because the anti japanese sentiment has been rising throughout the years so it made them less profitable to rip Muji / Uniqlo off

But this isn't surprising. I had my awakening when I realized that a large number of sushi joints in largely Western countries are run by Chinese citizens, usually from Fujian.
