I really enjoy Rema's parts but Selena's voice and flow don't fit the vibe of the song at all imo

Idk how to feel about this tbh. Her verses are good alone but as a whole it low key kills the vibes and flow of the song. It likes her voice lacks energy and the part that kills me the most is that is not like she can”t pull it off, cause her tone fits the song a lot, it just the energy/flow she sings it with, it needed more flow, swag, sexiness, sassyness and she has done that before. Overall I think she should have added something extra to make the song standout more (as it’s a remix) and it’s quite the opposite

On the other hand, her voice has been produced flawlessly, I think it’s her best production in a while.

i still dont know why she keeps featuring d-lists tho, she has the whole industry in her hands and she persists to do these kinds of collabs.

got it on repeat and bought it tho.

I do think Selena didn't add as much as I expected, her first line or two of her verses SLAY tho. After that her delivery falls flat compared to the other singer's Caribbean accent.

However I really like this sound for her, if she can find some more vocal infliction like in Revival era, it'd be a good sound to pursue. This and EDM are Selena's best sounds.

I think the main reason why this collab even happened is exposure, not song improvement. That being said, Selena didn't bring anything new to the table imo.

well that's pretty obvious Selena is not an afrobeat singer (african) what did you expect? Selena's verses are well produced with the usual style of verses in this style with strong harmonies, and Selena does add lots harmonization through all the song

She's looking for "new artists" I guess. Big names usually do this so their team can say the song became a hit because of them. That's what I think

her voice here reminds me a little of the hidden gem that is trust nobody

Since you asked for more of my perspective, I will share it. This may just be my opinion and thats fine… I expected more from her part. I felt she started off strong but quickly ended up sounding bored and flat as the verse progressed. She isnt conveying passion in most of it, besides her opening first lines.  Her delivery is so lackluster compared to his, and its partly the accent sure, but its just how hes so playful and shes approaching it so plainly and monotone. I have this issue with Selena in the past, she can sound pretty but just so lifeless, like on Crowded Room. One of her best songs and yet vocal delivery wise / emotionally she isnt selling it.

I still really like her part sonically and think this sound (similar to Revival) is her best one. She just needs to convey more emotion sometimes.

Rema fans love it

She did more promo for Bam Bam than this :deadbanana2:

A cute TikTok Dance video would be helpful

It is but expected for a remix of an already hit song, I expected at least top 50 but tbh there wasn’t much hype, just a few fans excited for the long wait. If she wants to suceed she needs to create more hype for the lead.

y’all think Selena has the streaming power she once had but she hasn’t have a hit in ages, her last collabos were all flop, her Spanish EP was good and did fine but she has not connected with the GP since LYTLM

the fact that i didnt even expect huge numbers but yet it did terrible imo:skull: her fans alone would make this 2m+ but i guess a lot of people left the fandom

Maybe not left, but we’re growns up no, and she is not too interactive with us and the closer you can be with an artist is touring and she is more likely not going to do it, with social media she interacts zero and all her Ig is promotion. GP still likes her so she still has chances to success, but she hasnt have a hit in ages now and this is not even a new song  so..

Woooo the song is amazing.

Her voice is so smooth :jonny:

The spotify numbers are pretty decent imo. Rema is a new artist and Selena barely posted about the song. The hype was very low.

But, I think once the song hits the radio, it will rise. This is the kind of song that depends a lot of the GP.

IF this song end up as a lil cute hit, it will be a slow burn one.

A huge debut is good, but longevity is the key.

Never forget that wolves debuted with 1M, and now is over 1 Billion.

nice debut for a remix of a pre-existent song.

They need to have patient and support the song with playlists and radio. It sounds a cute hit.

Still has chances when the MV is out, afrobeat is pretty popular right now but it barely charts so a #77 it's a good sign

Music industry is changing now is all about TikTok and longevity, playlisting does not have as much impact as it used to (with the exception of each country "Hit / Exitos Playlists, which still have a huge impact).

Radio has become the main reason for longevity in streaming right now again, and I'm kind of worried cause Interscope is not really trying radio with any of their artists (specially WW). Having a #1 spot on TTH does not guarantee now good streaming numbers.
