The last time there was almost 3 black women back-to-back-to-back at the top, it was broken up by Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" topping in between Janet's "Black Cat" and Mariah Carey's "Love Takes Time." Whitney Houston would have been the third in the chain with "I'm Your Baby Tonight." The closest to something like this happening would go back to "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer being dehtroned by Anita Bell's "Ring My Bell," which was replaced by another Donna Summer song, her most famous hit "Bad Girls," back in 1979. Three songs, by solo black women, just not three different black women. Notably, "Bad Girls" was dethroned by Chic's "Good Times," which was sung by a black female vocalist, so there's that too. Not relevant to the record in question of course, but interesting trivia nonetheless.

I always get confused, but I believe some members of the black community don't like that biracial people are included in the same group. Edited August 20, 2022 by Ger-55

Mostly, in the United States, one-drop rule is enough to make one "black" but... I mean, absolutely nobody would come to that conclusion from looking at Halsey. Depends from person to person.
Pheromosa Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 is there a chance bb throws out half of nicki's sales somehow?
