AlanRickman1946 Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) The helicopter was flown by well-known Russian biathlete Igor Malinovsky, with business people Zoya Kaygorodova and Sergey Kolesnyak on board. On July 16, the helicopter lost communication due to bad weather, Euro Weekly News reported. The next day, the helicopter wreckage was discovered by rescuers in Kamchatka, a peninsula located in the Russian Far East. Three hours later, remains of the trio were found near the Semyachkov Pass, just 13 kilometers from the Uzon volcano, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is believed the corpses were dragged away, mauled and eaten by wild bears that populate the region Edited August 5, 2022 by AlanRickman1946

Guest Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Let's hope they passed pretty quickly (from the crash itself maybe?) and didn't have to suffer while being eaten :(

Raver Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 What a horrible way to go I saw a picture of a man who survived a bear attack and his face was hanging off his head.

The article says the helicopter had caught fire, and that bears don't eat human beings usually, only those they don't have to fight to eat i.e. dead ones.

katara Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 The article makes it sound they were already dead from the crash and that the bears ate their dead bodies.
