MadMax12 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Since ARTPOP, she started this unhealthy pattern of messy eras with two singles, a 7 month hiatus then a random droplet video. Whereas other pop stars push around 4-5 singles. I think the decline affected her a lot and she became less motivated, losing interest in following through with her eras fully. Until Born This Way, she was the queen of visuals and that’s what people expect from Gaga. Will she finally work with professionals again and give more singles/high budget videos next era, or will she continue to act like she’s a legacy act in her 50’s?
~Start The Music Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Artists grow and change and Gaga is no different. She clearly has other priorities now and that’s okay.
JohnWayneHolland Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Bold of you to assume there's going to be a next era
Jay07 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Aren't most eras abandoned after the album comes out now? Blame streaming.
fauxtography Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 You're painting one side of the story tho. During all that time she's managed to succeed in multiple formats and genre's, has been awarded and met with rave reviews for basically everything she's touched - as well as come out on top with a smash tour, playing "legacy act" stadiums when her career is not anywhere close to those legacy's acts. And while there are a few of her peers that are doing better than her from a commercial aspect - lets not act like all the girls who debuted around the same time are having the same level of success she is. While I'd love for her to commit to an era like she used to, it's not like she released an album and sat on her hands for years. She's been pursuing different projects, industries, and finding success in more than one way.
anklebiterrs Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 With very few exceptions post-album singles just don’t work anymore, and they require radio support which she does not have. It’s neither economical nor practical to post more singles unless she does a very long pre-album era, which she has no time or interest in doing, understandably I guess.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 (edited) It's the streaming era and she's a veteran atp. She's not having an era with more than 3/4 singles at most and even 4 feels like a stretch, partly because her career has simply changed There's nothing inherently wrong with that. And if it's about visuals, Chromatica era had some of the absolute best visuals of her career. Edited August 2, 2022 by EnigmaticAndroid
Happylittlepunk Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Chromatica ball imo has set her up for another successful pop era. I think the music industry/media has made it clear they want another pop era from her and want her to comeback too the image/brand she had with born this way/the fame monster eras. The endless positive reviews from her current tour has set her up to be a legendary act that cannot be replaced, a music artist artist as iconic and creative as Prince, David Bowie, and Madonna and must continue for the good of the music industry. I understand if Gaga wants to continue to do acting projects but it’s clear as day the entertainment industry wants her to be foremost a music artist.
discotitzz Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 The odds don’t seem to be in her favour. It’s been 12 years Wishing her all the best
Gladiator Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I could not give less of a **** how an era goes. I just want good music.
Devin Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Streaming era has an impact on rollouts. Much like Rihanna, Gaga’s priorities changed. Controlling her pain and TCB seem to recharge her tho.

State of Grace. Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Chromatica had great visuals ignoring Stupid Love and quite literally one of her best MVs ever....
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Chromatica was a messy era but it’s a quality pop album imo. I hate that the narrative around the album has become so negative since 2020. Everyone was gagged when it came out and they have switched. There are a couple duds, most notably Stupid Love the biggest one of all, but besides that, it was the album i’d been asking Gaga to make for years prior to its release. If you’re going to drag any Gaga albums, drag ARTPOP & Joain’t.

She needs to SERVE for the Gods the next era, the GP is clearly here for it.
Pheromosa Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) i ******* hope so. she used to be striking, now shes just going through the motions. she seems like her old self on tour but the music isn't matching her. also she needs to STOP ACTING. The music is going to be what counts in the end. Edited August 3, 2022 by Pheromosa

This. I had resigned myself to the idea that she would ever be dark and twisted PopGa ever again, but the success and acclaim of Chromatica Ball has me desperately hoping she capitalizes on it. You can't ever assume anything with this woman, but she seems so happy and excited on this tour, I really hope she rides that wave into the next album and really brings it.
Mohit Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 4 singles can only work in 2022 if 3 of them are released before the album drop. The gp attention span is very short now. Look how everyone forgot that Drake dropped an album few weeks ago The least we expect from Gaga is to that she doesn't take a very long break like Rihanna. Just release new music dont care about visuals anymore.

Aaron Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 At this point she'll be fine. She's on a sold out stadium tour 14 years into her career. She obviously won't be trying to compete with the Olivias and Billies but I feel like she'll always have success with a hit single here and there.
