numbers are so-so, but expected. anyone who expected more than 50m is just plain delusional

i'm more surprised 43m is the biggest female opening this year & we're already halfway. this year was so boring for female (mainstream) artists until Bey came in huh?

It’s only underwhelming if you don’t factor in the fact that all 16 tracks dominated on AM’s top 20 and likely pulled anywhere from 20-25M there, which is a number most MPGs don’t come close to pulling on that platform on their first day. Understanding the impressive balance here isn’t going to give you an brain aneurysm, I promise. Especially when you consider she did it almost entirely solo after years of neglecting the power of Spotify.

woulda shoulda coulda... the excuses have already started pouring in  did anyone stop her from doing collabs? plus there is one collab on the album... so u can't say its all solo... didnt she jump on a quick lil single if megan thee stallion and ed sheeran few years back.. so yall cant act like she is holier than thou and is always SOLO .

Yeah mainstream is the key word because this year has been amazing in quality female releases (rosalia, fka, avril, charli, florence and now beyonce)
