It’s sad that yall still feel like you need to compare women to each other. Let’s look at the men in the industry - Drake, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Kendrick. All are allowed to be simultaneously successful. Nobody compares them to each other. But yall feel like out of Ariana, Gaga, Beyoncé, Taylor etc., “there can only be one supreme!!” and you have to criticise one just to uplift another. And these ladies are well aware that this is what yall are like too which is why they all pay their fans dust these days.

If you can’t just say “congratulations” and go, you need to ask yourself why.

I mean realistically Bey is an exception. I doubt any other artist in their 40s will be doing these numbers anytime soon unless Kanye releases. Outstanding achievement for Bey but yeah very few are going to be able to do this still in their forties.

True, but it's showing it can be done. She doesn't need to be the exception, the industry just needs to stop immediately disposing women as soon as they approach their 40s.

As someone who debuted in the 90s, these are fantastic numbers

I agree completely.

Speaking of the men who have done 100 million in a day or close to it. Kanye and Kendrick stick out. I'm really hoping that Bey can serve longevity here cause they have not.

Beyonce supposedly has alot planned. And the truth is, she has to work to get Gen Z streams on her side. But let's not act like sis is struggling at the bottom. She's closer to the top and outdoing many current artists with best sellers just last year.

great numbers, hope it serves longevity :clap3:

That's what's so exciting about all this - she's 25 years into her career, pulling similar numbers as artists significantly younger and less tenured than she is. If anything, this project is proving that female artists over 40 are still commercially viable. Which is something all stans should be wanting, especially as their faves continue to age towards that bracket.

This!

Bey smashing in her in her 40s would open the door for younger acts in the future

This is good for everyone, idk why people want to put her down

Queen :jonny5: These are great numbers. She's a 40 year old black woman 25 years in the game. The industry is so quick to dispose of women, especially women of color, yet she did this with an album that doesn't really follow any streaming trends.

This album is incredible and I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleaves for this project :duca:

Because it’d require them to acknowledge her longevity, which only makes this more impressive.

I was expecting more tbh

I'm sure it'll have great longevity though and I'll keep listening :clap3:

is it great for someone 25 years into their career? of course

but is it great for how much the media and press literally act like she's god and fall over her, with a full course press and tons of (bought) 5/5 reviews yesterday? not as much.

the media made this release out to be some once in a lifetime cultural event. this is why people need to stop acting like she's god and putting her on this pedestal, it doesn't line up with reality.

These #s would be fine if not for the absolute arrogance of her fans (tho on ATRL most of the real Beyonce stans left long ago and we now have a certain fanbase hiding behind her), and for how the media deifies her and she self-deifies. You expect more. :rip:

It deserved more :WAP:

The praise of Beyoncé for recognition of her talent has always been genuine from the black audience. It’s the mainstream media and whites people who call her Queen Bay that have made it go out of control because it’s phony and corny

Anyhow great numbers and she’s stomping Apple Music

well for one it's not gonna drop 42% like HN did...

Says what?

It's a good number, more than Billie even though her audience is leaning towards AM where she completely smashing there.

That fanbase celebrating 5M difference that she could easily make up with slight longevity and AM numbers?

These are objectively good numbers, the fact that people are still trying it :rip:

I read a few more pages from this thread...   wow :swan:

The Obsessed Gaga Worshipers (OGWs) are truly toxic and delusional. I'm surprised most are not banned, they contribute nothing. They did set themselves up though for when first week numbers come out

I expected around 52m so it’s a bit underwhelming. It’s not really a streaming album with the long songs, giving me 30 teas which also had an underwhelming debut for Adele’s standards. Unlike Adele, Beyoncé don’t sell physical copies as much as her, so her debut will be around 200k… which is decent.
