Which album had the bigger impact on GP + music industry?

A light-skinned auburn-haired woman is dressed in a sheer white blouse and a red bra, and is staring forward before a blue-skied background. The words "Lana Del Rey" are placed above her while the words "Born to Die" are placed beneath her, stylized in all capital letters. Black-and-white image of Lady Gaga in a blond bob wig with a black collar hiding her mouth.

One of them brought an unique sound into pop music and still continue inspiring so many artists even in this day

The other one is one of the representative works of a music genre which lasted like…5 years?

I'm gonna go ahead and say The Fame Monster, it had a huge impact and for a few years changed pop music's sound. Born to Die was more of a slow burn, its impact only started showing in recent years.

Born to Die's impact is felt till this day, whereas TFM type music was already dated and got old by 2011 so it didn't have a lasting impact at all.

ATRL is truly a different place :sistrens:

For sure TFM :rip:

The Fame barely beat Blackout on an ATRL poll, what can you expect from these hiveminded simps?

This one is hard, both of them are more impactful than some ATRL darlings' biggest works, I fear. :jonnycat:

The Fame Monster made bigger waves at first but Born To Die had the last laugh and is clearly the more influential album nowadays. Its recurrent streams back this point of view too.

TFM.. clearly. It was an explosion and cultural shift.

BTD didn’t come to a full boil until later on. It had longevity on its side, which is great, but Lana didn’t instantly become a household name because of it the way Gaga did.

At the time TFM, through the years Born to Die. The gimmicks and eurodance beats of TFM faded quickly while the influence of the indie sad girl-core of BTD is still being felt today.

Are you combining both The Fame and the Fame Monster to count its streams? Also, TFM had tons of promotion amd big hits while BTD is being streamed solely on the quality of the material.

There is no combining, The Fame Monster (Special Edition) is an album on Spotify containing all the tracks from The Fame and The Fame Monster :sorry: Just like there is a special edition of BTD containing the Paradise tracks.

and what is this BS about "quality of the material" :dies:  Summertime Saddness is viral on TikTok right now (other Lana songs too), so save us from all the "quality" crap. Also, BTD is at 3.2m units in the US after a decade, so let's not talk about some groundbreaking success :toofunny2:
