Juicy J is also an Oscar winner, and Gaga’s last #1 (which was thanks to Ariana Grande hence it more than doubled the numbers of the SOLO Gaga single that came right before it) did 4 weeks top 10 which is in no definition of the word “massive”, Break My Soul will easily do more weeks.

Gaga is touring mostly baseball stadiums (aka not real stadiums) and won’t even do half the numbers Formation World Tour did.

Congrats on owning ATRL though!

Beyoncé has been trying to get an Oscar for decades and the Academy keeps saying no. Meanwhile, she was FORCED to jump into old J Balvin and Megan Thee Stallion's songs to get some sort of hit (while losing her dignity).

Good luck with those Chromatica rejects.

Keep suffering and crying. You guys are excellent at it. X

This article came out during telephone? One of the biggest eras for Gaga. She was definitely a somebody at the time.

Oh my bad. But we don't know when Gaga was obsessively asking her for a Collab maybe it was during TF?

Anyway it could also be that grace didn't see her as having "talent" and probably thought she was just another popstar. A lot of people did hate her for her "gimmicks". We know now that this narrative has had a 180 in the past 5 years.

I think she made a valid point in that Gaga lost herself in all the costumes and forgot what made her unique in the first place. She has really regressed as a musician throughout her career.

Gaga could have put her hand to almost any genre. And who knows, but I feel she could have been the next Madonna or Beyoncé in the sense that both those women have evolved constantly throughout their careers, never doing the same thing and always surprising.

Instead, she went on to make a duet album with Mr Bennett and do soundtrack ballads :rip: I wouldn’t mind, but then she came out with the most generic song ever with Rain On Me. At this point in her career, she should be taking risks and evolving. But she has devolved into a shadow of her former self. She’s not particularly interesting as an artist like she used to be. I’m not excited to see what she does next, mainly because at this point we know what we’re going to get from her.

Also, the fact that she shifts from wearing over the top costumes when doing pop music to Hollywood glam whenever she’s in Hollywood makes her seem inauthentic as a person and as an artist.

Lady Gaga will be around for many years to come. But she will never go down in the pantheon of the great pop artists of our time. She could have, but she lost her way. Maybe one day she can get back on track and really show what she’s capable of as an artist, but somehow I doubt it.

I have to agree with this too.

I like Gaga, because she's actually talented and versatile, but I do feel like Chromatica was a step back for her. I would expect songs like "Rain on Me" a few years ago but not nowadays. She could use the talent she has to actually experiment and try something different.

Grace Jones? Never heard of her/him in my entire life…

Ignorance is never something to be proud of or brag about. Your fave knows her though, that I guarantee.

You asked why to a question you already knew the answer to.

Grace didn't work with her because she doesn't like her. It's not exactly a mystery.

Gaga has been trying to get a general field Grammy win for decades even going so far as to exploit a sick old man but the Recording Academy keeps saying no!

Meanwhile she was FORCED to collaborate with young streaming acts such as Ariana Grande and Blackpink after her solo single tanked to oblivion and her album still couldn’t chart even 40 weeks with their charity. Meanwhile, Beyoncé just released a solo single that is about to spend longer in the top 10 than any Gaga song since 2013.

Trust me Beyoncé doesn’t even know what that flop album is, only racist Liddos such as yourself see a black woman doing a black genre and try to credit it to Gaga.

Keep suffering and crying that Beyoncé will ALWAYS be bigger and better than Gaga.

Chromatica rejects.

not hugely surprising.

if there were a hypothetical choice, I can’t imagine that anyone in their right mind would opt to work with Lady Gaga over Beyoncé.

The flagrant pride in ignorance in this thread. :toofunny3: Way to highlight your complete lack of knowledge of the history, origins & pioneers of the musical genre you’re foolishly proclaiming your white fave appropriated originated.

Grace spilled. The selective memory is fascinating - Gaga’s debut was riddled with “influence”, completely devoid of soul or identity, and she still doesn’t know who she is.

Also this comparison between both artists is ridiculous and I am quite disappointed that Hive is returning the favor.

Even though I admit monsters frustrated me yesterday. It's like every single new thing we have since the beginning of the era, they have to make it about their fave and try to damper our excitement.

It's started right from the announcement that Bey was making House.

Chromatica tanked commercially and critically, no one is copying that ****.

Next.

Hopefully this time she'll get a hit bigger than Telephone with those Chroma rejects. It's been a while.

By the looks of it, Beyoncé certainly felt inspired.

Good luck.

The standard for Gaga to have to costantly reinvent and experiment with pop music is interesting. No other artist seems to have those weird high expectations placed on her, everyone else can coast through and get their flowers no matter what.

To say Chromatica is Gaga regressing is wild when it's art direction is fantastic (especially if we include the tour), has some of her best lyrics of her entire career and Replay and Alice are some of her best pop songs ever. I don't understand where I am supposed to see this regression as if she didn't deliver one of her most cohesive albums to date with a sound that wasn't popular during it's release, a sound that is now getting a lot more interest and focus by other artists as well..

So much for the '' monsters are the misogynistic white gays the hive love and support women '' angle.

That's not true at all. She literally ALWAYS credited Grace (and her other inspirations). Always.

Only at the beginning of her career, after the whole Born This Way x Express Yourself fiasco, she started bitterly rejecting, denying and attacking the people that really influenced her, specially Madonna

I stick by that statement, because god knows it’s true. Monsters show their ignorance daily by saying “Beyonce is copying Chromatica” but don’t even know where House originated from….:rip:

Good for her for taking a strong stand for herself publicly after being tired of getting **** thrown at her from all corners for years :clap3:

Telephone is Gaga’s 9th biggest hit but Bey’s 19th biggest hit. That coupled with Beyoncé’s verse going viral on TikTok instead of Gaga’s, we know who did charity for who.

Hopefully Gaga’s next studio album charts for at least a year ?

You need to stop typing nonsense and focus on streaming her dusty lead single since radio payola is the only thing saving her ass. I mean, on Spotify it's almost out of the top 40 WW and in the US.

Good luck!
