He is getting an insane amount of money from the box office of this movie.

His movies — while formulaic and lacking so-called versatility— bring in hundreds of millions, are typically tent-pole event films, and usually fit comfortably within (or otherwise establish) franchise titles. We can argue whether or not he’s owed $100M, but there’s no denying the man brings home the bacon for studio execs.
