This was an incredibly special era for me, despite the album itself being not so great.

Cultural reset :swan:

Even when the music wasn't the best, the whole era was so entertaining to see as a fan :heart2:

Not her stanning Cherry today of all days :jonny5:

it's her worst project, i'll start there

I love certain tracks! Love, 13 Beaches, Cherry, White Mustang, Summer Bummer, and Tomorrow Never Came are all excellent :clap3:

the rest is kinda here nor there... I'm gonna relisten to the whole thing before the night's over and I'll give a further assessment

Not her best album but still a good one. Love is a really underrated single.

Cherry was the proto-Cinnamon Girl. She perfected the concept on her next attempt.

easily her worst album for the atrocity that is coachella - woodstock alone (but it's still weak even if you pretend it doesn't exist). just makes nfr even more impressive as such a cohesive elevation of her style after a sloppy and uneven effort.

Some thoughts:

- Kind of a mess of an album, but that's part of its appeal.

- This album and Blue Banisters feel like transitional albums, so they'll always have mixed receptions with the fans.

- I loved the return to hip-hop Lana like Summer Bummer and Groupie Love.

- Honestly, 13 Beaches and Cherry are super overrated.

- The title track is underrated.

- The production on some songs feels weirdly undercooked.

- The back end has some amazing highlights - Tomorrow Never Came, Heroin, Get Free.

on my relisten right now and let me just say... tracks 10 and 11 are bafflingly obvious fillers. they are such snoozers :ace:

When the World Was at War is an anti-war anthem though...God Bless America is ok, I expected it to be a bigger bop than it ended up being.

it can be an anti-war anthem and still be filler :michael: it is SO unmemorable melody-wise. the lyrics are pretty good, I will say that
