That doesn't stop Kanye West having noms and wins and Taylor Swift to win every time Basically all the albums nominated were the biggest and most acclaimed of the year. There's no real snub this year (except for Rosalia) but let's blame it on the alphabet Did I say there was a snub? Try rereading my post I'll admit that there is no actual documented "alphabet advantage" but let's not act like it isn't at least a strange coincidence that, since last year, the noms in the general categories generally fall in the first half of the alphabet. 7/10 of this year's SOTY noms being within the first five letters of the alphabet, including a song literally called "Abcdefu" that received no other nomination, is a hell of a coincidence that doesn't really happen at any other ceremony. even BNA has it; only two of the BNA nominees' names are in the second half of the alphabet. I'm not the only person who's noticed this; read the GoldDerby Grammy forums. and of course an "alphabet advantage" wouldn't stop Harry. He's been on their radar as recently as last year (one win and two noms), and he's reached a new huge peak in popularity this year as well. Of course he'd get nominated somewhere in the general categories

fridayteenage Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Song of the Year IS listed by song name. It's because the artist isn't even always a nominee for the song. Also because some songs have a million writers, like: Tarik Azzouz, E. Blackmon, Khaled Khaled, F. LeBlanc, Shawn Carter, John Stephens, Dwayne Carter, William Roberts & Nicholas Warwar or Louis Bell, Justin Bieber, Giveon Dezmann Evans, Bernard Harvey, Felisha "Fury" King, Matthew Sean Leon, Luis Manuel Martinez Jr., Aaron Simmonds, Ashton Simmonds, Andrew Wotman & Keavan Yazdani

Protocol Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I would give it to 'Special' over '30' and 'Renaissance'. "About Damn Time", "2 Be Loved", "Everybody's Gay", "If You Love Me", "Special" >>>> Lizzo delivered an album of timeless pop perfection with heart and soul and a vital message for today's youth and beauty obsessed world. And no obvious samples or inserting voice notes with your child needed.
camfuckingrockwell Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) MARY J BLIGE SLAYED . Her and Beyoncé are top 2 in every R&B category. May the best legend win ! Both albums were tremendous Edited November 17, 2022 by camfuckingrockwell
Polgg48 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 "alphabet advantage".... that's explain 'Z'ach bryan snubbed but he sells the most by far out of that whole BNA list and nom on country song grammy nominated artist zach bryan sounds fine...

Zach Bryan would be labeled under “B” . The list goes by last name. (If the artist has a last name as their Perf name) “Cardi B” “Mary J Blige” “Beyonce” “These would be examples of B’s” Edited November 17, 2022 by camfuckingrockwell
camfuckingrockwell Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) Alphabetical Advantage is real lol but artists that are passion picks can overcome that. Voters are really lazy . Some of them might choose their Top 5 before they get pass the letter D ? ABBA definitely benefited from that. Edited November 17, 2022 by camfuckingrockwell

The same songs also got nominated for ROTY (which is listed by alphabetic order of the main artist's name) So a lazy voter voted for them for ROTY by alphabetic order, then took the effort to go to the bottom of the list of SOTY to find the same songs? Makes so much sense

Tremor Christ Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Jack Harlow & DJ Khaled being nominated for Best Hip Hop Album is so funny. I want Jack win for the mess.

lovethismusic Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I honestly don't care who wins what as long as Taylor wins her first SOTY, which she clearly deserves for the holy masterpiece that is ATW10.
brainmaniac Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 People really think there’s an “alphabet advantage” at the Grammys? That explains why Beyonce always wins AOTY right? Oh wait... Although, I’m sure someone will argue that Beyoncé couldn’t win against Adele because A comes before B or that Beck beat Beyoncé because Bec- comes before Bey-

fridayteenage Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 https://www.goldderby.com/article/2021/grammys-2022-predictions-alphabetical-ballots/ and clearly bieber and brandi both have their stans in the voting body. it is called an ADVANTAGE, not an automatic dealbreaker. it's like, say, being a caucasian male in politics. or business.
RockStarShit101 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 okay, they need to give aoty to beyonce this time
RockStarShit101 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I see no one talking about MJB winning aoty... you never know!
QueenofCopyPaste Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Rosalia defeats Bad Bunny for AOTY in Latin Grammys This does not bode well if it doesn't win in its own genre
Sergi91 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Love Christina but that was an awful performance. She doesn’t sing rancheras well. Rocio Durcal remains the best non-Mexican ranchera singer
