Although I can see Harry being the frontrunner for AOTY, I do believe Brandi can be the dark horse, she's benefitting from votes splitting and she has cross-genre appeal. I mean her Grammy nom records are all over the places from pop to country to americana and now rock

I think Adele, Harry or a dark horse is taking AOTY.

 

I think Beyonce will win 4+ and become the most awarded artist in history and that will be her win.

 

Also, while Beyonce's album has the most credits, Lizzo, Kendrick, Mary J blige and Coldplay have alot of contributors as well. Beyonce's is longer but it's not as noticeable in comparison to her competitors.

 

Votesplitting is real: Lizzo, Beyonce, Mary J blige and Kendrick...Kendrick has the advantage out of the four 

 

Without Taylor in there Adele's chances increase.

without Bruno for Silk Sonic in there Beyonces chances increase.

 

Coldplay has a narrative even though I don't want them to win.

 

Adele, Harry, ABBA, or Brandi are my top 4 guesses but then again ABBA and Brandi might pull from the older vote.

 

Adele > Harry > Brandi > ABBA (I think they'll get the Pop award) > Kendrick> Beyonce> Coldplay> Bad bunny > Mary J blige > Lizzo

R&B at the Grammys is still very much an old boys club. They like a very specific look/sound from their female artists (i.e., they expect them to be the full package while their male counterparts get recognition for doing the bare minimum). The only new R&B girl with true support is H.E.R. and it's because she does everything from writing, singing, producing, playing instruments, etc. 

 

SZA was 0-13 before she finally won last year, and Jhené only got into AOTY when the Blue Ribbon Committee was still a thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if her (very public) falling out with London resulted in her being blackballed. He's well connected and works with a lot of huge artists. I don't think a nomination is out of the question in the future, but she'll need to be undeniable. I could see her pulling it off with a crossover hit in either pop or rap.

 

But yeah Summer getting shut out is shocking. I really thought No Love with SZA was a lock for R&B performance  SOI was one of the biggest R&B albums of the year too. Insane.

This is not VMA, attending the event does not guarantee an award, many artists walked home empty-handed in the previous years

As much as I dislike her music, Rosalía truly deserved at least one nomination in the major categories. As many of her fans have pointed out, it's the most acclaimed album of the year, but oh well, better luck next time sweetie 

 

BEYONCÉ winning AOTY is the only right answer, anything else will be considered FRAUDULENCE! 

IRDC if ATW wins or not, the song isn't my cup of tea + Midnights will swipe next year anyways
