Prof Sachs chaired the commission into Covid by The Lancet for 2 years.

In a Project DEFUSE research proposal to the US government from the University of North Carolina, the EcoHealth Alliance, and the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the team wrote, “We will analyze all SARSr-CoV S gene sequences for appropriately conserved proteolytic cleavage sites in S2 and for the presence of potential Furin Cleavage Sites. . . . Where clear mismatches occur, we will introduce appropriate human-specific cleavage sites and evaluate growth potential in Vero cells and HAE cultures.” Much of this work was to be carried out in a Wuhan laboratory with a low level of biosafety control

DEFUSE proposal was rejected. When the National Institute of Health was asked to release its 2020 Strategic Plan for COVID-19 Research, it did so — with all 290 pages fully blanked out.

What an Idiot.

We know for sure that it originated from wet markets in Wuhan.

There is no proof, this is acting like any normal virus.

While I don't rule out the possibility of genetic engineering going wrong because, well, you never know, I also think it's incredibly foolish and a sign of our times to just go straight to the conspiracies and far fetched stories instead of, you know, just going with the simpler answer. A novel zoonotic virus made its way through several genetic mutations and became a pademic really, really fast because we're more interconnected than we've ever been before. There's recorded history in just the last 800 years of various similar events regarding respiratory diseases killing millions in a 1-2 year period, and we have evidence that those events were also of zoonotic origin. Most of the people promoting these ideas are generally grifters promoting some kind of material and service.

I will not however deny that the entire modern media ecosystem and its corporate motivations that turn news cycles into TRASH are indeed partly responsible for people losing faith in news and science and just resorting to whatever they find online and clinging to that as tight as they can.

True but he was in charge of The Lancet's 2 year Covid investigation. The Lancet is the MPG of science journals.

This man has no background in medicine or in natural science. He is only known for being a China shill.

I don't know about that but he wrote on his blog that the research was a collaboration between University of North Carolina and Wuhan Institute of Virology. He said it took place in Wuhan with low level biosecurity.

If he were a China shill why would he write on his blog about the Wuhan Institute and the fact that the lab leak may have taken place in China?

Perhaps he is a China Shill or maybe he is demanding the US government release the info they do have which he has every right to since he is an American tax payer.

This is why republican wins and strips away every minoriy's right. The left needs to take several seats and shut the f up.
