I just canā€™t understand this take whatsoever. It looks absolutely fantastic to me. :rip:

different strokes for different folks. I think the live action Disney remakes of the last few years are amongst the most ugly looking films ever. it's all gloss, no emotion. they are too dark and too close to reality to evoke any of the awe and magical emotions that the originals do.Ā

Ā

again, if anything i'm happy this is gonna be a showcase for Halle's undeniable vocal talent and star power.Ā

The CGI animation was fine from day 1, it was a little bit too dark but that is how ocean is. Sea world and sea creatures are more easily made by CGI.

The animals will look more reliable than in TLK.

The only big miss so far are the designs of the animals especially those of Scuttle and Sebastian. But at least they donā€™t look as emotionless as the animals of a certain other live action remake. Everything else looks (and sounds) fine.

Yeah, I agree about the realism/documentary/video game. You almost don't know what you're watching, but it doesn't quite seem like a movie (not bad, just odd). I'm still excited to see it, and the CGI looks better with every clip they release.

Thinking Of You

The premiere is tomorrow, meaning the first reviews from critics are coming.

Ā

Iā€™m scared.

You'd think they'd have discovered Scuttle is now a diving bird, considering they've been perched in this thread for months, whining over and over. :rip:
