I'm worried that the underwater scenes will look outdated in   comparison to avatars new underwater  filming tech. Anyone know about underwater tech or techniques used in filming  the underwater scenes?  Just cgi?

It simply wouldn't make sense to brighten her hair. They colored it to mimic the natural hair color.

 

Otherwise, we all know what the reception would be for a Black girl to have bright red hair on screen...
