I can't get over how incredible this looks and seeing the usual racists in here FUME is just making it so much more enjoyable. Halle is incredibly gorgeous and looks perfect as Ariel. I'm just so excited!

Since it's just a teaser i would suggest people to wait until a trailer drops. I'm sure the movie will look visually great. I think since she's a black mermaid they gave her a black hairstyle and tbh it was expected that her hair wouldn't be bright red. I think it would also look weird with the surroundings.

 

Also if you guys remember back there were rumours that Beyoncé wore a similar hair colour in the Spirit music video because of the outrage back then when it was announced that a black woman would portray Arielle in the upcoming movie. So some people kinda knew that Halle would get this dark-brown-reddish type of hair (just look at Spirit video for comparisons)
