Except he is getting old and will likely be target #1 for the virus if it is made into a thing. Golden Boy and Homelander would not have gotten along and I suspect Marie is a (high level) blood bender and doesn't know it yet, which means she is almost unbeatable if she reaches her mass potential.

It’s not about him being old he’s to hard to control

he is “bad product”.  However when I look at gen V I see a generation that exists but doesn’t belive their gods or can do whatever they want.  Which case being superhero no longer = being an *******. Therefore the boys no longer has to exist.

the 7th episode omg:jonny:

Spoiler

Neumann taking the virus, Homelander should be scared. Loving that this show will probably have important part in the main story. I wonder how Neumann's power work, she cut her hand and controlled the blood but in fights she only uses it to blow their heads (or any other part that she looks at).

I didn't expect the dean dying before the finale. Not her family being in the plane from the first season of the boys:gaycatx:

They are the same as Marie’s, she even mentions that creating whips and blades is exhausting. She blows heads the same way Marie’s blew that guy’s dick off.

I've heard so many good things about this show but do I have to watch all of The Boys before watching this? I've only seen Season 1 of The Boys.

I think it helps. There is a quite a few of references/crossovers with characters from Season 2 onwards. Although I don't think it's necessary, it would help watching The Boys first. Also I've heard the Season Finale of Gen V is a direct handover to S4 of The Boys.

I personally prefer Gen V to The Boys. The Boys is great, but only when it focuses on the "Supes/Vought" not "The Boys" themselves.

I feel the same. I always thought the Boys was a very good alternative of the Marvel universe but it was getting really stale. So glad they did this spin off at the right time to revive my interest in this universe

Can someone explain to me the ending of episode 7? :chick2:

What exactly don't you understand about it?

Spoiler
  • Cate used her power on Dean Shetty. Shetty revealed she wants to get kill all Supes because Homelander was responsible for killing her family on the Plane Crash in S1. Her motivations are essentially the same as Billy Butcher's but she is positioned as the villain of Gen V .
  • Cate forces the Dean to kill herself as she believes she is a threat to the existence of all Supes. Only Sam is in support of this because he has somewhat been radicalised.
  • Victoria takes the killer Supe virus from the Scientist and kills him to stop anyone knowing it exists.

I finally watched the seventh episode and WOW, there was a lot to take in. I was a bit underwhelmed with Season 3 of The Boys but this has truly made me excited to see what's in store for the show.

I wouldn't consider it my favorite episode though. It advanced the plot a lot but there are a couple glaring problems I had with this episode:

  1. I really hate the habit of the writers introducing villains and then suddenly killing them. We saw it happen with Madelyn Stillwell, Stormfront, and now we see it with Shetty. After her big reveal this episode I was thinking, "Oh wow this is a genuinely interesting character, I hope we see more of her" and then we watch her get killed at the end of the episode. :skull:Though I think there's a possibility still that Marie will heal her.
  2. Sam suddenly turning into a fascist apologist after attending that rally was certainly... a choice. People defend this by saying that he's been tortured by non-Supes his whole life and likely carries resentment toward them, but him suddenly blurting out he's better than non-Supes still felt so out-of-character and forced to me, especially since he's been capable of showing humility throughout the show.
  3. And speaking of that rally scene, I found it so lame. :skull: You can tell the developers of this show are straight white men because their political commentaries are always so surface level.

Loved this series and the finale but im feeling tired of the race wars. Let’s hope that gets resolved quickly on The Boyz before I get tired of that show
