A pity that they don’t peak at 1 because more than 100 weeks charting is totally crazy in digital sales era

Yes, but longevity is better than peaks, so still glad how massive were

I thought Ariana was huge in Japan?

I neither am denying nor agreeing, but I just want to put things in perspective: she's the most streamed female int. artist there right now after Taylor on Spotify, has 3 Top 10's on the Japan Hot 100 (only Madonna, Taylor and Gaga have more) and not to forget her album peaks there

#2 The Best

#2 Dangerous Woman

#2 Yours Truly

#3 My Everything

#5 Sweetener

Katy's best peaking album there is #5 (Teenage Dream), Beyonce's #3 (IASF) and #3 for Taylor (several) just to show another perspective (yeah I know peaks aren't everything).

Sadly though Japan stopped using Ariana (more or less) the second her music became increasingly r&b leaning with thank u, next. Her last 2 albums missed the Top 10 there.

Gaga so global, she’s always been the biggest pop girl of her generation in Japan (largest non Western music market) :jonnycat:  also surprised ROM went Top 10 there

Im guessing Mariah would be at the top of the list if the chart went back further :clap3:

Mariah had a couple of singles on the official Oricon singles chart:

1991 - #90 - 2,850 - Emotions

1994 - #2 - 1,241,160 - All I want for Christmas Is You

1995 - #18 - 91,640 - Fantasy

1995 - #87 - 6,980 - One Sweet Day

1996 - #79 - 7,390 - Always be my Baby

1997 - #39 - 18,760 - Honey

1998 - #45 - 36,250 - When you Believe

1999 - #37 - 24,850 - Heartbreaker

2000 - #78 - 2,360 - Against All Odds

2001 - #52 - 6,120 - Loverboy

2002 - #52 - 21,793 - Through The Rain

2005 - #130 - 814 - It's Like That

while some singles charted on the Oricon albums chart as EPs:

1991 - #48 - 16,340 - Someday

1994 - #42 - 29,000 - Hero

1994 - #34 - 68,610 - Anytime you Need a Friend

same for Gaga when she went the Cheek to Cheek / Joanne / A Star Is Born / Love for Sale route. Japan is only here for dance-pop bops, that's why they came back for Rain On Me, Gaga and Ari served exactly what they wanted!
