PrudenceHCharmed
• Crazy In Love (8 Weeks) • Baby Boy (9 Weeks) • Check On It (5 Weeks) • Irreplaceable (10 Weeks) • Single Ladies (4 Weeks) • Perfect (5 Weeks) Despite being a laughing stock on the Hot 100, the former Female of The Decade tally a total of 41 Weeks at #1, why? Particularly in 2008/9, the Hot 100 was packed with many releases and competition but the Queen B strived and lasted for 4 weeks at the top with Single Ladies. Nowadays, we have many singles spending a week at the top. So ATRL, why is Beyoncé doing something that is difficult to get, that not everybody can have? brainmaniac
Perfect was sketchy though. The first week Beyonce deserved credit, but I remember people calculated some of her other credited weeks, and the remix didn’t actually have the most points, but she was credited anyway. Billboard hasn’t always been consistent when it’s come to how they credit remixes.
naval23
The fact that she had 2 massive #1s from her debut era that took 17 weeks at the top alone is insane I'm still shook Baby Boy had a longer #1 run than Crazy In Love's run at #1 - DIL was sooo massive

gustavothehuman
Beyoncé is a great seller, the narrative she doesn't have hits after the IASF era comes from people who are too obsessed with raw numbers, they would be shocked some classics didn't even made into the Top 40. Still, Baby Boy deserved a million weeks at #1 This might be true but Crazy In Love went on to become one of the most well known classics with over 1M sold in the UK and over 2M in the US. Currently, CIL had over a billion streams combined on YT and Spotify! Baby Boy was doing moderate but it has almost 200M streams on Spotify. frenchyisback
If you actually care about an answer, there it is: Most of her hit were in the era when radio were 100% of the points toward the hot 100. If you’ve ever looked at the radio chart, you’d know it works like peer pressure. Once a song hit #1, every other radio start playing it to overkill. Most radio #1s are multi week #1s. Vs the 1980s or 2010s where sales and big release week allowed for more rotation on the charts and much shorter runs at #1. SL was a mega hit as big as CIL & bigger than Irreplaceable in the US with with the change in chart method the run at #1 was still much shorter. So ATRL, why is Beyoncé doing something that is difficult to get This seems a little disingenuous. Since last fall: Easy On Me - 10 weeks As It Was - 8 weeks Stay - 7 weeks We Don't Talk About Bruno - 5 weeks First Class - 3 weeks And of course Heat Waves broke the record for longest climb to #1, so it wasn't some cute little hit with no longevity. Sure, we occasionally get one of those one-week #1s, but it's not like it's every week when there are a lot of songs claiming #1 for over a month (or two).
