It’s an absolute blast, don’t worry. Some people want to take everything serious so bad.

I caught it in theatres and loved it, one of the best of the year so far for me

You may enjoy it, sis

It's just the way the critics and viewers were praising this to high heavens and it's not all that. Not even half that. However, it's not a catastrophe like Halloween Ends

:gaycat1:

Yeah I went to see it last night and it was fun. The twist was okay, but not what people hyped it up to be. I also wish they showed more because they hinted at so much more being down there than we saw.

Spoiler

Who was the person advertising the airbnb and who was the one who placed the bottle of wine?

I agree. That was one of my biggest unanswered questions. Who was setting up these double bookings - even the womans tone on the phone seemed VERY shady

I don't understand how you're seeing this as a plot hole at all :rip:

Spoiler

Justin is a bad landlord who left the renting to some 3rd party company who are obviously disorganized and unprofessional. It's definitely reasonable that they would have had the listing on two different websites (as the two early protagonists claim), which resulted in a double booking.

Then, on that phone call, the company says that they send out a cleaner to clean the place up just before new tenants arrive (rather than right after a tenant leaves). Because of this setup, it's reasonable to assume they have the cleaner leave the hospitality items (like the bottle of wine, which is probably cheap, lbr).

You found this minor thing more confusing than that man living for decades underground with no apparent source of food and water?

I think it hinted at what’s been down there historically, not what’s down there right at that moment..

I know but

i know those were horrible living conditions, but it hinted at him having so many children that it’s weird that only one survived who seemed to be around 40 years old if we’re going by the theory that she was the baby he was prepping for in the flashback. I guess with later babies they were deformed and unwell to the point that they couldn’t survive but it hinted at so much and showed so little

I still had a great time though and it’s probably my favourite movie I’ve seen since Ready or Not and I’d really recommend it to anyone and I’m glad it’s doing as well as it is.

Yeah I agree with everything you said and also

how could he feasibly sell the house and still live beneath it. I guess he could’ve signed on the dotted line and then went in there never to come out again. Who knows. Maybe he survived on breast milk lol but he had water and I wonder where he got that from

This was so good :jonny5: Surprisingly funny at times and liked how it was broken up into 3 parts. Very happy with the way it ended.

the kills were brutal :rip: it's a fun watch with some fresh ideas :clap3:

wish they could

explain more on how things started - it was quite subtle but it seemed to me quite impossible for the guy to abduct so many women and forced them to give birth....

explain more on how the woman became such a monster

explain more on how the guy lived downstairs

A very weird but interesting movie. It definitely started out in a way that I would’ve not expected for it to take a complete 180.

I went into this blind without watching the trailer or reading about the movie and wow. I was in for a wild ride. It was excellent. The twists and turns I never saw coming.

Really great movie

knew it was gonna be amazing since I first posted this thread :clap3:

I went into this blind and the hype for this was a bit much. It was decent but there were some unanswered questions that I wish we got answers too. Most impressive thing for me was the way things were shot, and the editing. Not necessarily as scary as I'd hoped for but I appreciate its originality.

This is how I felt. I was pretty underwhelmed. I liked the concept, but it was just okay to me.

Really good movie.  The twist halfway through was incredible.  I would have liked a bit more from the ending, but it was still very good.

The second half gave very strong Mama vibes, and that's one of my favorite films ever

I think the first time it was to establish that he was actually staying in the house and not just pretending. the second time it was to show that it was still there, meaning that we pick up where we left off in the house basically.
