discussion India: Man beheaded in a shop for supporting RW politicians comment on Prophet

The fallout from this continues to be...

 

Putting aside the large international backlash from Muslim-majority countries (x), the country had also erupted into protests domestically (x) over the comments (which called Prophet Muhammad a pedophile on a news channel.) 

 

The same comment has also now lead to a man being beheaded in broad daylight (x):

They claimed the act was in retaliation for the victim's support for controversial remarks made by a politician on the Prophet Muhammad.

In another video, they boasted about the murder and also issued threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi while brandishing cleavers.

The men posed as customers to enter Kanhaiya Lal's shop, and attacked him while he was taking their measurements.

The victim had allegedly put up a social media post supporting former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who made controversial comments about the Prophet Muhammad last month. 

Would not recommend anyone to look up the videos, they've apparently been widely circulating.

People love to bring up Christianity, and it has absolutely been responsible for horrible things, but Jesus himself no one ever has an issue with. both religions preach death and hate. Just because there was a Jesus does not erase the old testament.

“Pedophilia” was understood differently at that time, and young marriages were not limited to the islamic world, by that logic, many historical figures celebrated today would fall into the “pedophilic” category. In many cultures, girls were considered of wedding age once they started menstruating. 

 

The bible itself doesn’t specify an age & strongly implies that “puberty” is the acceptable age for marriage consummation, as the purpose of the union was conceiving children. The same goes for the Torah. There is very little difference between the Abrahamic religions. But tell me you don’t know ****, without telling me you don’t know ****. The jesus & bible commonly known today have undergone a white-wash, western filter. 

 

Anyway. This is terrible. Whilst religion has its place & benefits in society, the way it is taught has been bastardised & used for nefarious means & social control. Satanism >>> 

 

Re the topic: Disturbing, India is just a mess right now. Videos are posted on the daily of muslim women being attacked, molested, killed & vice versa, between hindus & muslims. Sadly, nothing shocks.

Absolutely, though a text doesn’t have that power, governments & rulers do.

 

You can yell about a book all your life, it’s not going to do ****. Stop viewing nations & people as monoliths & hold people accountable for their individual transgressions. Support muslim women in their feminist efforts. Stop setting the middle east back centuries through war, political meddling & weapon distribution. And maybe, their societies will be afforded the chance to socially progress.

 

Islam also isn’t practiced in one way, there are several sects, all of whom have a different understanding & interpretation, Sufism, as an example. Blanket statements like the ones you’re making are ill informed & media propagated & it’s ridiculous to assume they’re representative of a population of billions.

The problem is that as long as all those countries function according to sharia law, then their societies won't have a chance to progress. Islam never went through an overdue enlightenment process, and I see very little effort to go in that direction for now.

Sharia law was written by political islamists and only followed politically . Quran does not state nor allows pedo behaviour. If anything it stopped that behaviour. 

 

All religions have terrible sides and people whom are terrorists. I've witnessed that first hand. But religion itself is nothing more than a spiritual concept and meditation.
