Bang Up Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Is the photo in the OP the official cover? If so, I love it. The song is fine and I'm suspecting it's probably one of the more generic and safer songs on the album, but I'm looking forward to some real experimental stuff from her since she's in a position to be able to deliver that.
T.O.A.D.S. Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I know all the American girlies are convinced this will be a hit in the UK but you guys have to remember that this sound is already overused in the UK... I'm not sure how well it will perform over here....

smoore95GAGA Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) So uh, are we really getting 2 albums from her within a year then? If so, perhaps this album will be her dance-pop album with the radio hits, and the next one will be more experimental. An IASF situation but with 2 albums this time. Bloodflowers. Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Bey literally released this song for the LGBT community, during Pride month and for the summer. It's a great escapism and uplifting song, and y'all are too uptight. Crystal Waters and CeCe Pennington must be proud of this new sound from Bey!
EnoughSaid Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 This has already grown on me substantially. The video will seal the deal. It’s one of her weaker leads but I’m glad she came back with a dance bop and i do think there will be stronger ones on the album

Now it's too strong? And it's no attack on your comment but Bey can't win for ****. Based on the comments outside of this thread, many of them want a more malable and simplistic voice on the track and to me that's just hilarious and disrespectful. Again, not pertaining to your comment as a fan. But stans of others pretty much want Bey punished over the fact that she can sing. Yeah, literally no one is saying this. The vocal mixing on this song is just bad. Her voice doesn't sound like it belongs to the song and it sounds like it's layered on top of the beat as opposed to with the beat. You can have a simplistic voice, you can have a robotic voice, you can have a strong voice as long as the voice is interwoven with the beat and not seemingly just thrown on top. The beat is so good but the vocal production feels hollow (this is not Bey's fault).

Solgayleo Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It’s a good song. As usual, ATRL is doing the most. I do wish the chorus had a bit more substance, but it works. Funny how Drake surprise released a house album a couple days before Beyoncé released this… I wonder if he was trying to beat her to the punch.

canyonmoon Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It's fine. A bit derivative. The beat is generic. But she sounds good, and it's nice for summer.

It feels and sounds almost as if they just took a gospel song and remixed it rather than a new piece that is crafted from scratch. Her B’day voice would sound really really good on house/dance beat in my opinion. Her current voice has so much soul and depth, yet due to aging, it doesn’t sound as youthful and bright as her earlier days! I like the song but I wish I could have loved it. I know there are much better songs on the album so I’m still super super excited nnnnn this is very spot on. it's the only thing i dislike about the song
Slap Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Oh okay this is something fresh from her I am very here for It. My only gripe is the lyrics about quitting ha day job when the bish is a millionaire and has always worked in the music industry, don’t pretend you’re one of the people when you spent a decade projecting a god persona, it feels like pandering. But the song BOPS and I am so here for her doing something genuinely new for her, serving evolution and growth. This is what we needed. The Hive deserve this moment after all the Tidal Jay Z **** from the last five years.

Lovett Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) The way this thread is less than 24 hours old and is at almost 100 pages is a testament to how huge Beyoncé and her music remains. EDIT: Lol, so this post made it page 100. Edited June 21, 2022 by MrLovett
