Am I correct that this samples the same song Charli used for Used to Know Me?

Also, 16 tracks is part 1?? Wow we getting fed :jonnycat:

whoever trying to come for technical aspects of this song (mixing etc) knows clearly nothing about them:skull: the song is basically perfect in that aspect

Morning After Release thoughts:

Overall, I still feel mixed about the song. I think the vocals are amazing. I feel like the song significantly improves after the rap verse and delivers on multiple levels. Really salvages the song. I feel like the lyrics are concerning - it feels at best empty and at worst cheesy. I think this is a downturn from the strength of her last few projects but works as an uplifting loose free song. LOOOOVE the Freedia parts. Hoping for more vibey music from Bey than this on the album

This is a bop but I can’t believe she went for a ******* Show Me Love sample (or for a song that sounds like it anyway) which has been done endless times :deadbanana2:

It should be a cute hit in Europe, idk about the US

I feeling hate sampling in music.  Who invented that ish?

I get new Beyoncé but it’s not really new

When you hear the first chords of formation, you know you are about to experience something heavy-hitting.

welp … I hope this is indeed a palette cleanser and there’s better on the album

PS: All this hoopla about house music and I never even registered that I don’t care for that genre. I’m black. I need rhythm to dance to, not white-boy-wasted fist pump.

This is not even remotely a fist pump kind of song :deadbanana2:

Some of the takes in here…

You guys are so weird for being triggered over people not liking this :rip: taste is subjective, this is a pop music forum, people can express disappoint for a single they waited 6 years for if they don’t like it. BeyHive continues to be the most insecure fanbase which is so ironic considering the successful legend Bey is — you’d think y’all wouldn’t be bothered by some negative opinions! Bey is the queen, she can handle some negative opinions! Question is why can’t y’all??

Anyway, it took a few listens but I really like this! I agree with most of the common critiques: could use more vocal acrobatics, could be a little shorter, etc. But I love that Bey gave a nod to the LGBTQ+ community and this makes me so excited to hear the rest of the album, I’ve been waiting for Danceyonce for YEARS :jonnycat:

I like this one more than any other lead singles from her in the past decades:heart2: It's so empowering and catchy:chick1:

the radio is definitely gonna edit out intro with Big Freeda yelling at us abruptly and in-your-face like they edited Gaga's weird noize intro in Hold My Hand :rip:

The yelling is so abrupt :rip:

This sounds like a Carly Rae Jepsen, Side B song.

The sample is overused for reason and it’s because the beat it’s so infectious and versatile… anyways, her voice doesn’t fit at all the song and the lyrics is just tragic… but i think the song it’s not bad, and I would like to think that she didn’t wanted to be a masterpiece like her self titled/Lemonade and latest projects just a song you can dance and bop and it’s right because that’s what the people were asking her to do but now that she comes with it people are coming at her… jesus…
