Marco_g2 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I dont care for the cripple fight going on in here so ot: I very much like house music and this is just mid-tier. Its not bad but not outstanding for the genre.

Great808 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 This is what she thought she was doing. This is House music served RIGHT
What_A_Mess Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I love it. Excited for the album. I hope she win Best album at the Grammys with this.
Testosterone Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 If Beyoncé had released this anytime between 2008 - 2012 I would’ve lost my mind, but in 2022 this just isn’t it
anti-bitch Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I like the beat! I hope the video is a gay slay full of queens
allforyou Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 The first 2 minutes are kind of underwhelming but after that it picks up. I'm not gonna lie I'm a little bit disappointed, it's a good song but it just isn't lead single material. I still have hopes that the album is amazing though.

I personally know people who have 'co-written' with Beyonce when in actuality they have written the entire song(s) - they are required to give up 50% of publishing in order for it appear to consumers that Beyonce is a writer on her tracks. I think she's an incredible performer, dancer, vocalist and entertainer - but the substance of her artistry often comes from external sources which I don't think is acknowledged enough. She has lots of bops, though! Not only is this categorically false, it also has absolutely nothing to do with feminism. I think it's wild that people like yourself just come online to post lies and pretend you're doing something. Now is not the time.

Totami Legend Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I wish It went harder on the chorus, nothing that a Charli xcx hasn't already released on her album tbh
Hurem Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It doesn’t feel like a lead material, but I love the song. It’s giving me RuPaul vibes

I've worked in the music industry for 10+ years and know several people who have worked with Beyonce. It's not uncommon in the major label system for priority artists to demand writing credit on songs they had no hand in writing in order to increase their revenue streams. It's a big issue in the song writing community, as it is perceived by many to be exploitative. I retract my foolish comment about feminism, as you're right - not relevant to this conversation. One thing I am not is a liar though.
Cutthroat Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 As somebody who isn’t a big Beyoncé fan and had zero excitement for new material, I like this song a lot. A bop indeed!
Nico Robin Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It‘s great, I can see it growing on me even more. I‘m more excited for the album tho, the gems will be there
Destiny Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 1 hour ago, NausAllien said: ANY SONG released by a MPG has better production. Anything by Katy, Gaga, Dua, whoever... This is honestly my main issue with the song. How TERRIBLE the production is. It's serving demo; it's serving b-side; it's serving outtake. I cannot believe Beyoncé released something so low in quality. You have been going through IT. RELEASE YOUR ANGER
skankle Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I do wish she went just a little harder but it bops anyway. She fits the house diva role like a glove.
Both Sides Now Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Listened to it a few times and not very excited by it. It doesn’t really take off. I may switch in the context of the whole album

She even said in an interview she recorded “Heart Wants What It Wants” and another artist (Selena) wanted it. So the writers took it back and gave it to Selena instead because she was a bigger artist. These writing camps are giving the hits to the current chart topping girls. Not someone who’s been out of the game for 6 years. yeah and thats where i think artists who write their own music have the upper hand.
Both Sides Now Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 23 minutes ago, Daydream said: Is this the single cover? EDIT: Oh I just saw that it is! I wish they’d updated it on streaming platforms so we can see it, otherwise what’s the point of the artwork. The Robin S. pose.
Truth Teller Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 This is the result of 2 (past-their-prime) r&b writers (The-Dream, Tricky Stewart) and an r&b performer trying to make a house record. It doesn't sound natural. Not that r&b and the 90's club music she's going for don't share any connection, but it's very indirect. She should have worked with people who actually make house.
