TheFlyingRobot Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I don't dislike this but it sounds slightly dated to me, the rap part is dreadful and should not have made the final cut, that's definitely the worst part of the song. I think this song is a grower, the more you hear it, the more it'll be stuck in your head. It's not bad, although I did expect something better as a lead single though.

Beyonce singing that she is tired because of her 9-5 job the song could have been a song by literallz anyone, thats why im missing a personal touch to it. she sounds amazing as always tho Ahh yeah this is what bothers me too, like there’s so little ‘Beyoncé’ in this to me. The only reason the lyrics are about working struggles is because all those 90s house songs were about that too, coupled with the sample it’s like… why wouldn’t I just listen to the original instead of this I wish there were more Beyoncé-isms

The rap part was the best part of the song, wtf lol
Daydream Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I keep seeing this visual in my head when I listen to the song. I hope this is the aesthetic the video will serve.

Like seriously even fake grass would do. Just a tiny brush on your palms. Apologies if this came across wrong. I should refrain from posting first thing in the morning! I personally know people who have 'co-written' with Beyonce when in actuality they have written the entire song(s) - they are required to give up 50% of publishing in order for it appear to consumers that Beyonce is a writer on her tracks. I think she's an incredible performer, dancer, vocalist and entertainer - but the substance of her artistry often comes from external sources which I don't think is acknowledged enough. She has lots of bops, though!

Have we not listened to Music Sounds Better With You aka the best song the world will ever see? I love that ATRL has an issue with repetitive songs now. Meanwhile they go and stan Ava Max or Gaga whose songs are just ma pa pa's and la la la's and that's ok. Hypocrites.
Bicassie Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Bey always has polarizing lead singles… Deja Vu was hated back in 06’ and B’day is my favorite album by her and now it’s a fan favorite song This song is ahead of it’s time and will be loved after a while
joshhh Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It would’ve been so good last year or the year before. I think Gaga got away with this rehash with Sour Candy (in a way Swish Swish couldn’t do). But cause Charli just kinda did it as well it all seems kinda reductive. Just wish this dropped two years ago cause it would’ve been the slay it deserved to be

OnlyManInTheWorld Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Sounds way too dated. Gaga did it better with „I Want your Love”.
nathanspears Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I can definitely see radio eating this up with a shorter remix
rzal Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Still so good I kinda wish it was a bit shorter though, who says this needs to be a replica of 90s songs, make it modern and 2:40, or make the ending a bit more interesting. Can someone tell me what "Tryin' to smoke with the yak in your mouth" means?
AllyBunny Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Oh this is so good. Sounds very 90s house to me, and her vocals are incredible. Queen Bey is back and here to stomp. ^ no idea if this comment of mine was posted as I ended up with an internal server error. But this has been stuck in my head for the past few hours. It might smash here in Australia or it might not.
Daydream Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) Is this the single cover? EDIT: Oh I just saw that it is! I wish they’d updated it on streaming platforms so we can see it, otherwise what’s the point of the artwork. Edited June 21, 2022 by Daydream
RockStarShit101 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I liked it at first, but after a couple of listens, you just want to shut this **** down and just don't want to listen to the song ever again.
Patient Zero Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Needs a shorter version. Current version is too repetitive.

popmusicisdead Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 it's an ok song. the beat is too overpowering tho. you can barely hear her voice.

At least DV sounded like Beyonce.
