zzmyth Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Worst lead single by Bey BY FAR. Too monotone, and what is that production¿?¿? Really dissapointed

Dear Reader Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I love that I’m not stuck up on fan wars and can appreciate both Chromatica and Break My Soul… some of y’all just live to hate on other artists, it’s kinda weirdo behavior ngl

I know that once she hits her leg on the stage she can elevate the song x100. So I m really looking forward for the 1st live performance and of course the video. I m really curious for thw whole direction on this album. I hope it's not full house. the direction of the album will be House and Country.
Serendipity Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 This is so flat what is everyone listening to I was so excited. I wasn’t a fan of the comparisons/fights initially but I’m dead that she gave us a Chromatica b side

Riot Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 She stole the Drag Race queens flow with that rap though
PopKills Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 It’s cute if we ignore Big Freedia but maybe not lead single material

But the truth is that it's serving demo from 90s with terrible mixing and bad production
Homebrand Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Sounds like a Drake reject, and not in a good way I'm sure it'll get played at the clubs and a moderate hit because the sound is current but tbh a bit disappointing for Beyonce

BMS, on the other hand, sounds straight up like it's from the early 90's. Nothing wrong with it but, yeah... I think this is a negative in this case because it literally uses a song sample from the early '90s, and doesn't try to be anything more. If it was brand new production and sounding straight out of the early '90s, it would be a lot better. I don't know if she thought using the sample would be more authentic, more honoring the genre, or what, but it just gives it a redundant, stale feel imo. Perhaps not something Bey has done before, but something we've all heard before.
Snoopy Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Didn't expect Beyonce to drop the ball like that. Definitely not liking it, but maybe it's a grower.
Domination Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 3 minutes ago, Destiny said: delusion It’s delusion to think otherwise. At least Chromatica had original production, boring as it was. This is, in the most literal form, a sampled loop with a tired Big Freedia ad-lib for “the culture” or lack there of. As a Bey fan (not stan), it’s disappointing. Especially when the last decade of her career has been about really pushing the limits of the productions she can hop on. Meanwhile this is a Nicole Sherziger rehash (literally).
rihannabiggestfan Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Not this one song singlehandedly being better than the ENTIRETY of Chromatica combined, wow! Bey said YES to quality and NO to awful music You guys are sleeping on Freedia tho
