After a couple more listens… It’s a.) way too long, and b.) as others have pointed out, very cheap production.

Actually really enjoy the vocals but the production is makes Chromatica look like Self-Titled.

:bibliahh: delusion

It’s not good but part from 1:45 is legendary

Yeah I could go without the first minute and half. From there on it's amazing :jonny:

I love that I’m not stuck up on fan wars and can appreciate both Chromatica and Break My Soul… some of y’all just live to hate on other artists, it’s kinda weirdo behavior ngl :deadbanana4:

I don't love it, i dont dislike it. I m not into house but it gave me a great mood boost this morning. I know that once she hits her leg on the stage she can elevate the song x100. So I m really looking forward for the 1st live performance and of course the video.

I m really curious for thw whole direction on this album. I hope it's not full house.

the direction of the album will be House and Country.

This is so flat what is everyone listening to :rip: I was so excited. I wasn’t a fan of the comparisons/fights initially but I’m dead that she gave us a Chromatica b side :rip:

I like it.

What is this Jason Derulo-ish generic mess?

Jason Derulo's generic songs are at least catchy and 'boppy'. BMS is flat, no strong melodies, no life whatsoever.

She stole the Drag Race queens flow with that rap though

This is great :clap3:

well, that was rather uneventful wasn't it

It's mediocre and that's alright.

It’s cute if we ignore Big Freedia but maybe not lead single material

Some fans are trying to gaslight everyone into liking this song... But the truth is that it's serving demo from 90s with terrible mixing and bad production :skull:

Sounds like a Drake reject, and not in a good way

I'm sure it'll get played at the clubs and a moderate hit because the sound is current but tbh a bit disappointing for Beyonce

Ehhh we wanted easygoing bops and she delivered just that, a bit repetitive but imagine the visuals/dance moves when the ongoing “you won’t break my soul” plays

:jonnycat: can she drop the mv already

If I have to make a comparison, Chromatica and Witness at least tried to sound modern. BMS, on the other hand, sounds straight up like it's from the early 90's. Nothing wrong with it but, yeah...

I think this is a negative in this case because it literally uses a song sample from the early '90s, and doesn't try to be anything more. If it was brand new production and sounding straight out of the early '90s, it would be a lot better. I don't know if she thought using the sample would be more authentic, more honoring the genre, or what, but it just gives it a redundant, stale feel imo. Perhaps not something Bey has done before, but something we've all heard before.

Didn't expect Beyonce to drop the ball like that. Definitely not liking it, but maybe it's a grower.

It’s delusion to think otherwise. At least Chromatica had original production, boring as it was. This is, in the most literal form, a sampled loop with a tired Big Freedia ad-lib for “the culture” or lack there of.

As a Bey fan (not stan), it’s disappointing. Especially when the last decade of her career has been about really pushing the limits of the productions she can hop on. Meanwhile this is a Nicole Sherziger rehash (literally).

Not this one song singlehandedly being better than the ENTIRETY of Chromatica combined, wow! Bey said YES to quality and NO to awful music :clap3:

You guys are sleeping on Freedia tho
