I wanted her to play with more of those la la Las in the beginning. She was onto something ethereal there!!!

absolutely this + i wish she belted the "everybody" part towards the end in a higher register. i must say that after 3 listens it goes harder

I was hoping for more of that sirens lalas too, maybe she’ll use it more on tour for an intro, or in the music video.

Live I can definitely see her belting “everybody” like no other.

This sounds a mess :skull: who mixed this? It has potential but it’s just so noisy especially at the beginning. The vocals don’t mesh with the instrumental? Idk how to explain it just sounds like someone singing over an existing instrumental

Go listen to the version from her website, the beginning isn’t as obnoxious and the beat is clearer. As are her vocals, you can really hear them soar.

White gen z atrlettes will be waking up in distress this morning. :ahh:. Their whole concept of life and the little knowledge they have about "dance" music was flipped on them like a ton of bricks, and with no warning.

why are you acting like this is some revolutionary piece of music?

it's literally the most generic overused house beat ever with terribly mixed big freedia vocals slapped on top

Ehhh we wanted easygoing bops and she delivered just that, a bit repetitive but imagine the visuals/dance moves when the ongoing “you won’t break my soul” plays

Why are people saying her website has a better version? :katie:

The last time Bey, The Dream, and Tricky Stewart worked together was Single Ladies and we remember the reception to that... now imagine if the MV follows suit

Its not the content, but if you buy it on her site she sends the file and you can listen to the WAV file.

I don't like it. It's what I would typically expect from Bey but when I heard it would be dance music I was more intrigued. Unfortunately it lacks any kind of hook or memorable melody. Its very monotone and goes nowhere. This may have worked better as an album track which is how I feel about most of her songs for over a decade now. If shes worked with writer camps in the past, why don't they give her hits? Is it because they rather give their songs with potential to the IT girl of the moment? This isn't shade, I just don't get it.

I just heard this and it sounds so much better.

This is good and inspiring but  a tad boring. The song sounds unfinished.

This will 100% flop, but I must admit that Bey was brave for doing a full 180º and releasing a house song.

bc its just a bop sis. i never said it was Picasso's coming pt 2.  I also was referencing the  twinks in here already acting brand new, not knowing how house is black staple, one pioneered by black artists.
