Yes, if there’s a video in youtube that week and the album happens to be an event like Lemonade and Self Titled. Otherwise, it’ll likely rise to the top 5 if radio continues to grow by then.

Why are people acting like the song is over if it falls to #11 on the Hot 100? Specially when it’s a 2 point difference between #9 - #11. :rip: She’s most likely charting on the top 10 the following week regardless and #11 still outcharts half the singles she put out last decade, let’s not.

!!! That's the feeling I have as well. She could be 15 again and it still a big triumph for her. She has a new week in the TOP 10 granted in 2 weeks.

They're annoying. If they're that concerned,  they need to pass the collection plate around like the other stans. This is the first time Bey has had a multi week top 10 in over a decade.

Be glad she's not seeing a 98-OUT. What more do they want from sis? When she wants to push this song, she will. She's not competiting with anyone else but herself at this post . It's an insult when they doubt Bey sometimes.

Thank you!  Having meltdowns over it dropping to no.11. Like are they serious right now. Doubting Beyoncé at this stage of her career…

……she was 34 :rip: Mariah with “We Belong Together” would have been a better example in your argument

They had already dismissed Mariah as 1/4th black. Mary is a fine example, 34 is definitely still nearing 40 and way above the age of artists who normally dominate radio, especially pop where I think Mary was successful with that single despite it leaning heavily towards R&B.

34 is closer to 30 than 40. How on earth do you come to the conclusion that 34 is nearing 40 :deadbanana4:

It’s too stable in the UK for me. It literally just needs a little push to go to #1 so I’m starting to find it staying at #4 on Spotify and AM quite frustrating :monkey:

No. There’s a difference between low radio play as a result of ageism and low radio play because the material is simply not good, or there being a lack of interest of the artist the GP.

Whenever black artists release something good with radio appeal, it’ll be played. Especially on rhythmic, regardless of the age.

Pharrell still had the biggest radio hit of what seemed of the entire decade, Happy’, when he was 41 years old. Jay-Z had two big radio hits, ‘Holy Grail’ and ‘N****** in Paris’ when he was over 40 years old. Flo Rida had the #1 song on radio with, My House, as he was nearing his 40s. Mariah had another radio hit, ‘Beautiful’, when she was over 40. Don’t get me started on Black artists in their 30s or the genuine support on R&B radio regardless of age.

So no, your statement is false.

Happy was a fluke for Pharrell as all the following singles from that album tanked

Jay Z’s hits featured 2 artists (1 being a white popstar) who were under 40 at the time

Flo Rida was 36 when My House was a hit, big difference from being 40

Beautiful was a moderate hit and again featured a younger artist

There are just as many instances if not more of white/non-black artists having hits over 35:

Gwen’s whole solo career

Madonna - Music, COADF

JLO - On The Floor, Into You

Shakira - Chantaje

Sia - Cheap Thrills, The Greatest

Maroon 5 - Memories

JT - Say Something

P!nk - What About Us

The idea that black artists don’t suffer from ageism is completely false and there’s a big difference between ageism for men and ageism for women.

If your point was true then Beyoncé wouldn’t be the first black woman over 40 to have a multi-week top 10 with a new song since Tina decades ago, she is clearly the exception to the rule.

We’re discussing age and we don’t age backwards, if you’re 34 you’re nearing 40 not 30. It’s not a hard concept to grasp. Plus, the song reached its peak at radio after Mary turned 35.

Who cares about other artists ages when they got hits? She’s having a multi-week top 10 solo single which is not easy to get at any age, specially not at 40+. Period.
