Not that there's any evidence for or against this I've seen, and if it was already talked about than I'm sorry, but is there anything to a theory about Beyonce being played less on Top 40 because she's 40?

Drunk In Love's peak was in the 70 million range?  Or was it 90?

What’s ironic is that if she released this initially with a video it most likely would have debut a #1 or top 3. I’d like to think age isn’t a problem for her right now, however I’m a millennial and my gen z friend was like “I can’t believe Beyoncé is still making music”. :deadbanana4:

I buy any radio holdback for age to an extent, honestly. Given the numbers now, yeah with a video it's likely. Oh well, hindsight 20/20.

We saw the focus groups conglomerates did during the MTV TRL era regarding Madonna losing her "cool" with younger Gen X that I saw air on Frontline PBS. I suppose it's hard to make the argument because there's nothing really to compare to in terms of her contemporaries that have tried?

P!nk abandoned US Radio (or the other way around) so she went to focus on Europe for higher touring numbers and I don't blame her.

I'd say J.Lo but she's 52, so the poor performance of her music post-On the Floor can't really be compared fairly.

Britney's done with the business, Christina's not gonna bother with (English) Top 40 in terms of any real aims for top ten again.

Can't think of any other valid comparison because Adele, Rihanna, and Taylor are all the younger generation, then Billie, Dua, and Olivia under them.

I feel like The-Dream doesn't get enough credit. Like, the same man who gave us Dance For You, Single Ladies, Love On Top and Partition also gave us this heavenly bop. A lot of highlights in Bey's discography involve him. I hope they have more songs together on the album.

I know, he really is great.

Umbrella, too (It's a juggernaut itself)

Chile hopefully it stays in the top 10 but we already figured without a video it would continue to drop. :coffee2:

This is a problem for white artists. This is never the case for Black artists because they are continually setting the trends and are always seen as ‘hip’.

Now that this is a Top 10 Hit on US radio she need to tease us with the visual - Can't wait to see the dance moves

Hmmm, loads of black artists have suffered in terms of radio play due to ageism. It happens to everyone.

Im sorry, I wish I could update the single thread more, but there's just too much happening with regards to the album rollout that I simply can't find time to focus on BMS

I don’t know where to post this but I’ve just been recently gotten into Chloe and Halle and Holy motherrrrerrrrYonće. Her ******* powerful vision; she knew these girls are going to be mega talents from the get go. They are the greatest vocalists in the industry right now, nooo debate needed-their visions, creativity, complex harmonies, VOCAL PRODUCTIONS( second to not a single soul except mother herself maybe)……etc :wanda:I

Beyoncé better go on tour and drag them with her cuz I will payyyyyyyyy take all my money Queens.

Im actually so mad they’re doing solo stuff like why? WHYYT?

I swear the only thing we can’t trust Bey in is Promotions :giraffe:

Text from my mother:

“Heard Break My Soul 4 times on the radio this morning. I kept changing the station and it seemed to be on every one. You can’t escape it.”

To answer ur question why they are doing solo stuff:

It started because Halle snagged 2 insane acting Jobs - shes playing the main character in the live action remake of Little Mermaid and she snagged a defining role in the remake of The Color Purple.

Due to that, she had to do the shooting for almost an entire year which left Chloe on her own. That basically birthed Chloe's solo career.

Hope both of them flopped solo so they can come back together :giraffe:. The contrast in the voices is what make the harmony sounds so special and WHOLESOME.

Chloe’s solo music is cute. All 3 songs sound like she’s trying way to hard to score a hit though. Well at least she’s trying very hard. Wish we can say the same for Normani!

12 days until maybe the music video drops :duca: (:monkey:)

This is honestly really good for a Saturday. We didn’t lose much of any streams I think. I think we need to give this song it’s credit. It’s very stable and will reach new peaks and probably really start to explode with the album release and eventual video on top of being her most supported song on radio since like IASF. (songs like KMM & DSN did the same)

Obviously, Beyoncé needs to fight for streaming power among new artists and I see it happening already. AM was always good to her but she’s holding well with a throwback house influenced pop song over there as a female artist. (The hip hop male dominance is real over there) She went from outside the top 50 monthly listeners to 29 on Spotify (she’ll def hit 50M and be near Taylor’s with the album release only behind Dua and Doja at that point). I’m just saying for a woman of her age, who avoided Spotify so much and people said were done commercially on here…to sit with a multi-week SOLO TOP 10 before her album with a pop song that her demographic would take time to embrace. Give her ha 10s. Give this woman her 10s.
