Zoe_ Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Marvel has too many freaking shows. Not everyone needs a show. Also, there are currently TOO MANY NEW CHARACTERS.
Happylittlepunk Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Dropping the show in the middle of obi-one kenobi was stupid of Disney part.
Oscar Isaac Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) As a point of comparison (new shows that don’t center around characters with fanbases from the movies), Moon Knight improved steadily during its run and Nielsen tracked it hitting ~3.7 billion minutes viewed by week six of its run, surpassing Hawkeye (and it’ll eventually surpass Falcon and Winter Soldier if it hasn’t already). While it might not be enough to pass the other shows and their preexisting character fanbases overall, that kind of weekly increase could happen as Ms. Marvel goes on, especially with Obi-Wan wrapping up. It’ll also get a boost with the Marvels movie the way WandaVision got a boost when MoM released. It’ll be fine. Edited June 18, 2022 by Oscar Isaac
Miles. Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 There's a new Marvel show every 3 months, people are finally getting bored of them. Also, Marvel stans don't want to watch a show about a brown teenage girl. I know quite a few people who have watched every single Marvel show thus far but are skipping this one.
Serendipity Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 This one is ahead of it’s time, the goray and aunties can’t grasp this
Blade Runner Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Those Marvel shows cheapened the brand so much. It's not longer AN EVENT anymore.
Timber Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 My favorite besides WandaVision. People are being racist and sexist.
Dingdong123 Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Too much MCU already, they gotta give it a rest lbr
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Marvel already let us know they will produce 5-10 projects a year to make an infinite stream of MCU content. That’s the future of entertainment

Docter Strange 2 made more then anything marvel studios put out in 2 years, excluding Spider-Man. And they had 2 hit shows with Wanda and Loki and co-produced one of the biggest movies of all time just 7 months ago. NWH Wanda and Spidey are the only notable characters in the MCU rn

Loki, Avengers, Guardians, Antman, Black Panther, Ect. They are all still household names and bring in merch money every quarter . Also you just named the last 2 MCU films leads, of course they are they are notable. They are the most recent movies. Edited June 19, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9
Lovett Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 You just know the ones calling it "trash" in here haven't even watched it. They just see a younger character (and a Muslim one at that) and have labelled it as such - like the incels review bombing it on IMDb currently. The show is fantastic and the numbers are really strong for the demographic it's catering to.

It's not shocking that US audiences didn't want to watch a show with primarily Pakistani Muslim characters. I'm sure it did a lot better worldwide than other Marvel Disney+ shows. No, it did not.
Desire Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Not y'all saying it's trash when it's top 3 of the shows so far
fountain Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 To be fair it’s certainly the most niche of the shows so far. Also, it’s unfortunately an uphill battle against the ignorant side of the base, for many reasons. The positive thing ultimately is that the show exists and offers this representation regardless.

rac7d Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Curious to how it does on Nielsen it’s up against obi wan. The boys. And umbrella academy. It’s gonna be a struggle.
Dark Phoenix Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 It’s been downhill since Loki for the MCU shows and it will continue with Lady Hulk and whatever other shows they have, they’re pretty hit or miss and so far none of them have had any impact on the movie saga besides Wandavision and that’s debatable considering what they did to her character.

Ms. Marvel is in the cast of The Marvels (coming out next year). Just because they didn't connect every series to the movies doesn't mean they aren't going to.

You have to remember both Wanda and Falcon only had 3 days per new episode figured in its weekly Nielsen ratings. The other shows had 5 days worth of viewership.
