Prior to this latest stretch of silence, they were doing quite well with her store too.  So, I can see a restocking to tie in with the film's arrival. Maybe like cassettes, alternate covers etc. 

 

Surreal to think it's actually streaming carrying the album when we all understandably thought it'd be pure units. 

 

Logic and the reality that we have a bonafide trailer is why I won't participate in doom and gloom dialogue. This clearly won't be a BIK year-late situation. That said, while I know we're about to be blown away, I don't like that the visuals are coming a month+ from release. It's one thing if it "felt" like it was always the plan, but it clearly wasn't and the retrofitting to present it as such is a little annoying.

 

More than anything (as I'm pretty patient in general), I just don't want her to miss the limited window of virality surrounding tracks like Alien Superstar.

Ok, I've been really listening to this a lot lately and I've changed my mind. She really did that with this album  It needed a few listens, but now it's literally all I listen to. 

 

The 1-2-3 punch of 'I'm that Girl', 'Cozy' and 'Alien Superstar' is unmatched. That's how you open an album. 

 

Energy deserves at LEAST 4 minutes. The production on that is CRAZY. I would have wanted the horns a bit louder though. Also, I don't care about the whole Kelis drama. But the lalala's version is much better. The sample works perfectly here, as it's not very in your face, but it's a bit in the background. 

 

Heated, Move, Break My Soul and Summer Renaissance also great. 

 

I don't really care for the rest, tbh. 

 

But that user that told me that this album should be listened to as an ALBUM, was completely right. The song- stand alone - don't sound that impressive. But it's the transitions and the whole experience of listening to the whole album, what elevates this.

This album genuinely rewired my brain. As soon as it came out I pulled myself out of a months long depressive episode and started tackling things I’ve been putting off for years. Maybe the conspiracy theorists were right about the pop star mind-control thing.

Energy is easily in my top 3 and stands as its own song in my opinion. Also for whatever reason, it's never switched to the new version without the sample in my Apple Music library, which I'm happy about because the lalalas elevate the last chorus so much

I’ve only been streaming from the store thinking it’ll help with popularity of the songs, so I was surprised when I played energy from my library!

Energy doesn’t get the love it deserves because people cant hear past BEAM. But it has one of the best production on the album and Skrillex really put sounds in there that I thought I would never hear in a Beyoncé album.

This was the initial disconnect from me as well. I love the track now but she should’ve opened it.
