JuanXito Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Can the VMAs give her a 15 minute/half hour/the whole show slot please. I actually agree with her decision not to immediately have visuals ready to go from the jump as, as amazing as it's been the last few albums, it also ran the risk of becoming stale. She was smart to swerve that, even if it is frustrating. I just hope she has something ready to go soon. I want to see her perform PureHoney on Good Morning America. The way this album presents new sounds, feelings, thoughts each time you listen to it - insane attention to detail. A grower and a shower all rolled into one.

However, I'd prefer she approach any such VMA appearance like Rihanna's Vanguard performance. 4 huge performances sprinkled throughout the night. Her whole thing is not doing the same ol' over and over. Another long medley would kind of be "been there, done that" territory. They are also running out of "reasons" to hand her such long spots (e.g. Vanguard etc). That said, I could see "and a special presentation of Renaissance from Beyonce" type situation. Like others, a big part of me does feel like Bey is way above the show at this point and having received its top honors already, there's no legacy benefit (especially on a year she's not nominated) being involved. I also note that Bey only does these shows when they bend backwards to honor her (a rightful flex on her part). So, unless they pull that TriIcon ish they did for Gaga, I can't see her showing up JUST to perform. Edited August 8, 2022 by Cbreezy
BnPac Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Where does Tems sing on Move? I only hear Grâce Jones and Bey. Is he the male voice doing the "MOVE" in the background?

shark_heather Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Its so weird we dont have any music videos for a Beyonce release. . . Also apart from BMS which is the obvious lead single , it looks like she is throwing songs here and there ( Summer on pop radio , Cuff it on TTH etc ) and if smth becomes hit organically then good Im not even sure if we will get another proper single , maybe she will release Act 2 before Xmas ? and Act 3 before next Summer ??? And what about the tour? Are we getting one ? And is she gonna perform all 3 acts ? And from the old ones? 2-3 mash ups ?? Its kind of confusing

Its kind of confusing I think the music and the roll-out were meant to be experimental. it might not make sense because it doesn't and they're just trying some things! especially after the pandemic when everyone has changed their consumption behavior. throw a song or two to different radio formats? why not! does her target audience even listen to radio anymore? maybe not! I think that's why they're just doing random things - just to see what the audience is looking like right now
♛| Rex_Sove Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Cuff it for the 2nd single please. It feels the most obvious.
McNulty Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I finally had time to listen to the album today, it's really amazing. Beyonce has been reinventing herself creatively with every album lately. Some points I wanna say: - the transition between songs are great specially Cuff it-Energy-BMS - I liked how she used BMS more in the album, it made me like the song mpre - Church Girl sounds so much like Get Me Bodied and has B'Day vibes - Thique is my least favorite song so far and I usually skip the Move-Heated-Thique section, it feels dull to me but maybe it will grow on me eventually - All Up In Your Mind is one of my favorite songs but it drives me crazy how the song at the end reach its climax production-wise but ends without a payoff - My favorite songs so far are Cuff It, AUIYM, AHAP, POTS, Virgo's Groove and Summer Renaissance - The criticism around the number of writers on Alien Superstar is weird considering Kanye last year released Hurricane which also had 24 writing credits but people praised it and didn't mention the number of writers while discussing it. It's double standard. I don't care about the number of people who worked on an album/song If it means the music is good. You can clown on them if the music sounds like sh*t with all these people working on it
shark_heather Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I love many songs on this album ( summer Renaissance, cuff it , energy . . . ) but Alien Superstar is THAT *****
Rev8 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Is it me or is someone else singing at one part on Thique? sounds like Tinashe type of vocal, but deffo too thin to be Bey?
Post Malone Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 miss rennie is like 10 times better now that i blocked church girl and pure/honey on spotify

Beyoncé said “la la la la” in a way similar to Kelis’ “Milkshake” (not even exactly) and she was nice enough to give credit (when tbh no one would have noticed) That is why Kelis’ rant was unnecessary Honestly cannot tell who it was but there are a lot of people who think it sounds like Kelis. Regardless, I miss that little bit and I'm glad I have the version where it's still in.

Alejandrawrrr Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 I figured she was just using a very nasal vocal placement on that part, too get that high/girlish sound. But yeah could've been pitched too

Cuff It and Alien are the obvious 2nd/3rd, they both already got nice positions WW even if they don't reach any higher (as it will be a while until BMS is done)
PopMusicJunkie Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Sonically, lyrically, and conceptually — it’s all a triumph. I’m hearing something unique with each listen.

justin. Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 I literally cannot stop playing the album. She laced this entire thing with crack. I’m worried I’m going to overplay it.
JonginBey Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Baby come over Come be alone with me tonight All these emotions, Its washing over me tonight
SweetTalker Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 America Has A Problem NEEDS to smash somehow because what is this BOP it just clicked. The whole album is just growing on me nicely
