You might have to play it a few times through to properly hear though. 18 minutes ago, Lukey said: Oh my, oh my, oh my. Definitely gonna have to give it a few listens then. Love to see Queens inspire Queens. You can find it also written down in the picture booklet of the CD and Vinyl, so you better get a physical copy as well
Starshine Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 America Has A Problem getting paid dust thus far doesn't sit right with me. America really does have a problem.

ElleDriver Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 (edited) If an album deserves to be ridiculously acclaimed by critics is this one but from what I've seen so far, it's not quite receiving the love st and lemonade did and I think it's because it's more subtly political(not to mention the insularity of critics, and especially the british ones, won't let them unveil the political undertones of the music at all) and thematically diametrically different of what an artist is expected to release in times like these. Like I want this to be the most celebrated Bey project so badly Edited July 31, 2022 by ElleDriver

Like I want this to be the most celebrated Bey project so badly I feel the same exact way! I wanted this to be her most acclaimed project yet and the MC reviews feel so... bland. Sonically, this is her most ambitious, creative and well-rounded sounding work to date, and just because she's not explicitly in-your-face rallying it's not getting the points it truly deserves.

Like I want this to be the most celebrated Bey project so badly ST and Lemonade also had the benefits of phenomenal visuals and were branded as "visual albums:. I'd imagine Renaissance would have been perceived differently if it had any, but that would have been sensory overload. Listening to Renaissance was an overwhelming experience and I'm kind of glad I didn't hear it through a film distracting me. I get to break down and appreciate every chord, harmony, etc. until then.

TrueBlood Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Self-titled > Renaissance > Lemonade. And that's the tea.
