KK_Lover Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Is it possible for the ACT II to drop on her birthday ?
*-ChriZ-* Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 (edited) America Has A Problem is the secret US smash on this album if pushed, calling it now Edited July 31, 2022 by *-ChriZ-*
Haus Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Heated is officially the second song to enter my trinity alongside Alien Superstar. Welcome, Heated. I have the tendency to scream when I realize Heated has begun
QueenofCopyPaste Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 CUFF IT is taking off on POP, RHYTHMIC and URBAN radio

est. in 90s Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 NO ONE can convince this isn't album of the decade so far There's nothing out right now that sounds like anything off this album That inspires an immaculate experience and journey through a world like renaissance Renaissance is MY multiverse of madness And we still have 2 more acts to go

KK_Lover Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Am I swearing if I say this is my favorite Beyonce album ?
BnPac Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 The transition between Alien Superstar and Cuff It is the weirdest in the album. It just feels a bit flat compared to the others. I still can't stick with a trinity even Summer Renaissance is massively growing on me. And there are songs that I thought I liked less than others where I'm discovering new elements and being blown away. Virgo's Groove and I'm That Girl are still holding as my two favorites though.
Starshine Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 The rave reviews I'm seeing for this album from those who haven't liked her music for nearly a decade.

These songs are so POTENT… that’s actually one quality she shares with Charli here. It’s a somewhat overwhelming dose of pop, in a good way. And fully overwhelming with weed and headphones
Cain Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 The only songs I just really don’t care for are Church Girl and Heated, it sounds like they said okay we need some basic hits on here

She really came to play with our ears!

I've been very relieved about the praise she's received from people who normally don't listen to her. It seems like her embracing a new territory for her is helping!
Ice Cream Skies Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 I feel a little bad for Cuff It because it has to follow the first 3 songs and feels a bit safer as a result, but it's a really good song and links up extremely well with the transition into Energy and Break My Soul. People were talking about hearing the album in sections, and I agree - I sort of separate them like this: 1. I'm That Girl -> Cozy -> Alien Superstar 2. Cuff It -> Energy -> Break My Soul -> Church Girl 3. Plastic off the Sofa -> Virgo's Groove 4. Move -> Heated 5. Thique -> All Up In Your Mind -> America Has a Problem -> Pure/Honey -> Summer Renaissance What's interesting is that turned out to be how the vinyl sides were arranged, except 3 + 4 are combined, of course (4 sides total).

est. in 90s Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 the fact that we don't even have visuals yet and it's EATING me up like this

This album is truly opening her music back up to audiences she's never had, or lost a while back. I went to a bar for my friend's birthday last night and another of my friends ran over to me to tell me how obsessed he is with Renaissance. He's never really been a fan of Bey, she's just never done it for him. But he was talking about how much he loved this album and how his faves are PURE/HONEY, THIQUE and ALIEN SUPERSTAR. Love that she's reaching new people 25 years into her career!
