Thique sounds REALLY as if Beyoncé sat down with Chloé and told her « now girl listen and watch carefully, this is HOW WE DO IT »

So does Church Girl.

They probably have a ton of orders to ship, so it will take a few days

But I'm also checking the status of my order every five minutes

Now that my friends mentioned it, the album does sound like a RuPaul's album :deadvision: Mother Ru really is that influential.

I'm still shook that 25 years in she has the #1 album and 9/10 of the top songs on global Apple Music. Beyoncé is an absolute force to be reckoned with.

A true testament to her longevity!

Cozy is the spiritual sister to Rocket.

Its not an insult but I feel like this album deserves to be digested in doses. Like I feel like I'll have a seizure from all the boppery if I played it all at once I need some time to breathe miss maam!

This album is like a playlist of songs from your biggest gay dancefloor fever dream :jonny5:

With the performance on AM so far, i'm guessing 150k SEA first week

Physical is a wild card but i think she could scan at least 100k

So around 300k debut week

My Personal Album Review - Track by Track

Im that girl - I'll be honest, the first time I heard it I was just in utter shock. I didnt know how to process this opening cause I didnt expect her to open the album with something as experimental. But MY GOD has this song GROWN on me. Insane opener once u get used to it. And the transition to Cozy is just disrespectful.

Cozy - That beat, her voice, the lyrics - all 10s across the board. It goes so hard with loud speakers and is definitely a contender for a single. Amazing! The fact she alludes to the LGBTQIA+ flag is the cherry on the top tbh. And again I couldnt believe my ears when I heard it.

Alien Superstar - The chorus is just EARGASMIC and her chanelling her Grace Jones during the verses. My Goodness. At this point of the album I knew Renaissance didnt not just come to play - she came to slay us all.

Cuff It - One of if not THE most commercial sounding song on Renaissance. Its instant, its feel good, its uplifting, its giving multi-format radio smasha. Definitely a single-contender and the love child of Blow and Lay Up Under Me. Another 10/10. And the transition to Energy is just nasty.

Energy - Too short. I get it serves its purpose as a transitional song, but I really dig it. It's infectious and fun. Overall probably not as memorable, still a great song!

BMS - phew she came to slay in the context of the album. So, so much better and also one of the most commercial sounding songs. I get why they chose it ad the lead even tho I would've gone for a different lead. Still a great lead that stands out.

Church Girl - Who thought we would get Get Me Bodied's sis whos been into crack on Renaissance? This song is so infectious and fun. Its not necessarily my fav, but I still really enjoy listening to it. I can see its appeal, even tho I dont see it as a single contender.

Plastic off the Sofa - Wow, speechless. Never did I expect to hear Bey like that again. It sounded like she warped back from 2003 to record this song. So damn good and probably one of the most vocally exquisite moments on the album. As the only slower song, I appreciate it so so much. Its something for us R&B Fans. So beautiful and delicate. **** me up with ur falsetto, *****.

Virgos Groove - the fact shes channeling her own Donna Summer meets Boney M here. This is one of the quintessential Songs on this album and it feels like a dream fulfilled of mine - a Bey and Daft Punk collab. Its giving Random Access Memory meets Bey and her vocals towards the end are just incredible. The way she sings "your love keeps me alive" in 1093628 millions ways just gets me hard. Its giving Bey 2003-2007. She completely STOMPING vocally. How can u hear that and say "Adele is a better singer"? Like, its nonsense. Incredible track.

Move - the fact Bey goes from Virgos Groove to Move almost seemlessly is a Talent in itself. Move is a direct call to get up and dance. Its infectious. While its not my fav song, I still feel the vibe and the Grace influence. Great afrobeat song that just exudes confidence.

Heated - another potential single. So so good. You can hear the Drake influence in this song, but it still feels so Beyonce. She really did that. This could be her One Dance, especially since the last minute is SO TikTokable. I mean "Uncle Johnny made that dress, that cheap spandex she looks a Messias, fan myself im hot hot hot". Phew, **** me up Bey. Its giving me Check On It vibes in terms of stupidity and cheekiness. Its hilarious and amazing. Only Bey would do sth like this. So great!! One of the Highlights for me and a clear single-contender!

Thique - the first song that takes us back to HipHop-Yonce and that was so left-field and unexpected to me because I expected House/Dance only. Thique is basically 3 songs in one and keeps u on ur toes. It wasnt an immediate fav, but Bey knows layers win in the end, so to say the song grew on me is an understatement. Its Bey in ha Frankenstein-pocket and shes insane for it. Shes the only person to deliver and own a song like Thique. Nobody can do what she does on this track. Its just exciting and a highlight on the album.

All Up in Your Mind - Probably the song i connect least to. Its not a bad song per se (and I see its appeal), but it sonically reminds me too much of a sound Rihanna already explored on Rated R. Its not bad, but it doesnt excite me as much as the rest of the album. Still solid.

America Has A Problem - Shes a grower, not a shower. Again, it wasnt a song I clicked with right away. However, the more I listen to it, the more I feel like this is THE Urban song to demolish US Charts. The sample is genius, the lyrics are so layered (obviously comparing her sexappeal to the effect of drags). Its cheeky, its fun, its memorable, its quotable. With the right push, this has all the ingredients to smash on Urban Radio.

Pure/Honey - A highlight on this album and I dont care what u say. The beat is serving nasty gay, im feeling all types of nasty and in charge. I just want to walk around with a fan in my hand and do death drops. Its so perfect. I personally prefer Pure over Honey, but Honey is Bey channeling her best Prince. I feel like he would be SOOO impressed with Pure/Honey. I can totally see it. It's a genius song, serving as the bridge between AHAP and SR. I love seeing it surpassing other tracks on the album already. Its what she deserves.

Summer Renaissance - In my opinion the masterpiece of this album. It encapulates everything this album is - its electronic, its dance-y, its a throwback, its modern, its sassy, its serving vocals. Its just perfect and imho the logical single going forward to promote Renaissance. It has enough throwback vibes due to the sample to make the Karens bop, it has enough quotable passages and sass to make GenZ go awf on TikTok. Its everything. Also, I feel its the perfect Tour opener. To start the tour with "I wanna House you" is a spiritual experience I want to be part of. Then the sing-response part is incredible to engage the audience. The Vogue elements. My God, give me everything Bey! Also, after the first chorus, theres a a very faint repetition of the "it feels good" part in the background. Is that Miss BLUE serving vocals?! I could swear its Blues voice. If thats truly her, its over for the girlies in 8 years.

Overall review: Renaissance is a masterpiece. Nothing left to say. The fact that Bey still manages to come up with projects that make her older projects feel almost dated is INSANE. The vocals are insane on Renaissance, the confidence she exudes, the command, the experimental sounds, the possess. I mean cmon, this is an album done by an absolute master in their field. No one, and I mean truly no one, couldve done this album but Bey. This is Beyonce in all her glory.

Single Contenders:

Summer Renaissance - in my opinion the best representation of the album and a surefire hit if pushed.

Cuff It -> multiformat smasha and nonbrainer when it comes to having a successful second single after BMS

Heated -> Again, it has radio appeal like barely any other song, and the last minute is a match made in heaven for TikTokers.

America Has A Problem and/or Thique - Urban Single in the US. It has everything to domination that format and slay. Its infectious.

I could see Alien Superstar in Europe doing things and maybe Church Girl slaying Urban radio akin to AHAP.

My Personal favs (which is super difficult to say):

S Tier: Cozy, Alien Superstar, Cuff It, Heated, Pure/Honey, Summer Renaissance

A+ Tier: Thique, Virgos Groove, I'm That Girl, Plastic Off The Sofa

A Tier: Energy, America Has A Problem, Move, Church Girl, Break My Soul

B Tier (sorry): All Up In Your Mind

ALBUM ranking:
Renaissance

The way the beats come in during the intro of ENERGY is just soooo iconic already. Wish the song is longer to be honest; It’s such a moood!

I mean I still don’t really have a fave, but HEATED probably above all the others :gayliyahcat1: It just keeps getting better, and the outro rap is the GREATEST MOMENT of the album.
