Does anyone feel as if we are in the album era of music? The 2010s were all about singles and hit, but the 2020s so far are all about complete bodies of work. Very 90s and even 70s-esque

easily album of the year :clap3:

THESE MOTHAFUCKAS AINT STOPPING ME!

I can confirm i'm that girl is also a bop.

The album is so f*cking great! 'Cozy', 'Alien Superstar', 'Pure/Honey' and 'Summer Renaissance' are my favs (and the highlights of the album).

The chorus with the violins in 'Alien Superstar' reminds me a lot to Calvin Harris' 'Pray to God', am I the only one?

'Break My Soul' definitely gets better after listening 'Energy', btw.

Alien Superstar coming for number 1 on Apple Music.

i dont know should I say it because beyonce fans are the most insecure ones. but this is about music, so plz i hope noone will quote or comment on me.

i couldnt even finish the album. i heard the most though, i stopped at heated after i realize ill never find a song there for me (i only like break my soul and cozy).

i was shocked how dated it sounded. usually i have problems with her not being authentic but her admitting shes with jay z because of cash 'not his face' was authentic moment for her. and maybe her talking about tiffany and chanel or whatever cause i believe she cares for that stuff. inauthentic moment happened even with that song i liked COZY because she openly says shes juicy which we saw in paparazzi pics but she goes and photoshops herself into skinny woman for the cover. thats opposite of loving urself being juicy? i still like the song because of the message and song is fun.

what bothered me  even more so is no vocal skill being showcased. if this was made with same people that did chromatica i prefer chromatica over this because lady gaga has more honest lyrics and she SANG. she literally SANG and BELTED on dance music. its possible. beyonce sang like she cassie/ciara/normani for some reason.

i did catch 'green eyes envy me' lyric, i dont know is that a stab at rihanna or what cause chILE

beyonce sounds like she was rushing this and everything sounded like first and only take.

i dont know why this many samples if the songs are bad/worse. example of good sampling is burna boy using toni braxton/squid game song and making it fresh/exciting/different.

i guess for me ill listen to tracks i like by beyonce (the gift soundtrack) cause so far, this album only has good cover and idea/concept. execution and lack of documentaries/videos is making release boring and non event as well.

If that's your opinion then it's your opinion. There's really not much to say here.

Yes and no? Singles artists are still thriving on the Hot 100 to a certain extent and definitely on streaming. But it felt like we were headed that way in the mid-2010’s (ANTI, Lemonade, Blonde, Joanne, Melodrama, reputation, among others) Even if you’re not a fan of all albums listed, these were high profile artists at the time who felt like they were making album statements and not 10-12 possible radio and/or streaming singles.

After FOUR listens...I actually love every song, but here are my favorites:

I'm That Girl - when ATRL was listening to the L Word I knew that y'all just didn't have the taste to appreciate something so gutter yet abstract. Literally blew my mind listening earlier this AM.

Cozy - love the hook, love the message, love the production

Summer Renaissance - this song is perfect, vocals!

Thique - a bop as expected

Church Girl - gives me my fav album vibes. 'B'Day' almost feels like "Get Me Bodied" but current.

Pure/Honey - definitely prefer Pure to Honey, but love this moment

Break My Soul - This has been pretty much on repeat since this was released. Such a declaration

Plastic Off The Sofa - Gives me early B vibes vocally and melody. Kind of DIL/TWOTW

America Has A Problem - The hook is infectious

Girl this is the album that showcases her vocal the most in a while. :deadbanana2:
