Lemonade was shite, so I'm surprised she could recover from that. :deadbanana2:

B'Day remains her best album. This sounds too repetitive to me. I need more listens.

Slightly different take on the Apple Music dominance....it's budget well spent!

And that's not shade.

I was praying Columbia would do the Drake-type takeover on the homepage on AM worldwide and they did!

It's the streaming service most popular in the US, most resonant with R&B/Hip-Hop audience, and holds the most weight because it's paid streams only.

Looking at which songs are charting highest, for now it's clearly the opening songs. We'll get a real idea of which songs are sticking their nose out more in the days ahead.

In terms of overall strategy, I like the diverse approach. Apple Music is clearly where the $$$$ went and they've gone for big above-board visibility. Which benefits because it's immediate exposure and gives the album overall a lot of ears out of the gate.

On Spotify, she's gotten the usual "big artist" launch (#1 on TTH, NMF) and they are working specific tracks: Church Girl , Cuff It, and Summer Renaissance.

All very album focussed but with a testing the waters for possible singles. I like.

How does this compare to how men perform on AM?

Y'all, is this album going to kill it on streaming!? :jonny:

Did she take over spotify like AM?

I see THIQUE being a crowd-pleasing club anthem. Tell me I'm wrong.

heard Virgo's groove 1st since it's Pitchfork BNT, really interesting so far, it's cool she keep evolving artistically :clap3:

So based on the first listen it's a good album but it's her worst since Dangerously in Love. The thing that bugs me the most about this record is that sometimes the samples just get too overbearing and even annoying (I'm that Girl). Some of the other tracks fall flat to me (Church Girl and Energy). However, there are some great songs, Cuff It, Virgo’s Groove and Plastic Off the Sofa are so good :jonny: Her vocal performance really is the highlight for me

In terms of performance, or playlisting? With performance we won't know until the numbers come in tomorrow, but the playlisting is pretty strong standard playlisting - cover of TTH, NMF etc.

I’ve not had a chance to listen to the full album yet but heard snippets and I’ve just listened to pure/honey in full before my train and wow the second half slaps (the first is great too but second is soooooo good).

Virgo's Groove really gets better and better.

Something about the second half of Move. Move is THAT SONG.

I feel like it could be her "Work" kind of hit like Rihanna. It is infectious.

I meant promo/playlisting, like the entire AM music page is her

Virgos Groove has REALLY grown on me.

At first it was just kinda meh, but damn, it's so good
