Daydream Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 So no Dol-Bey Atmos yet. I'm gonna NEED Zachary Campbell's reaction video pronto.

Destiny Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I finally have a trinity. I don’t know how long it’ll hold though. #3 is shaky. #3. CHURCH GIRL #2. PURE/ HONEY #1. SUMMER RENAISSANCE
smoore95GAGA Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Imagine somehow thinking IASF is better than this

With performance we won't know until the numbers come in tomorrow, but the playlisting is pretty strong standard playlisting - cover of TTH, NMF etc.
Serendipity Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I’ve not had a chance to listen to the full album yet but heard snippets and I’ve just listened to pure/honey in full before my train and wow the second half slaps (the first is great too but second is soooooo good).
FreeXone Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Something about the second half of Move. Move is THAT SONG. I feel like it could be her "Work" kind of hit like Rihanna. It is infectious.

Lose My Breath Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Virgos Groove has REALLY grown on me. At first it was just kinda meh, but damn, it's so good

The thing that bugs me the most about this record is that sometimes the samples just get too overbearing and even annoying (I'm that Girl). Some of the other tracks fall flat to me (Church Girl and Energy). However, there are some great songs, Cuff It, Virgo’s Groove and Plastic Off the Sofa are so good Her vocal performance really is the highlight for me This is CERTAINLY not worse than I am Sasha Fierce haha

Im mad her songs pick up better in the second halfs. Like girl that should have been the whole damn song! **** them shittt beginnings! This is giving me the vibes Justin timberlake gave off wirh his 20/20 album. Just get to the gravy!
Stan.killah Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 The first half of the album is like taking a galactic dance space journey
The Next Day Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I don't think the album is entiterely apolitical. There are countless references to black and queer culture, a culture shaped by people who are still being murdered because of who they are. Celebrating your uniqueness under such circumstances is highly political. It's music to party to, but that's also what makes it subversive in a way.

I’d say this album is better than that and Dangerously in Love at least

Machete Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 SPOTIFY PARTIAL NUMBERS Comparison to other partials -> and their eventual total debut: Chromatica: 1,356,590 (12 songs) -> 48M SOUR 953,080 (8 songs) -> 64M Happier Than Ever 941k (11 songs) -> 36M Future Nostalgia: 533,591 (8 songs) -> 29M Rare: 505,746 (11 songs) -> 25M Manic: 192,277 (10 songs) -> 17M EXPLANATION FOR CLEAN/EXPLICIT SPLIT: Both the clean and explicit versions of the album are displaying different totals. Now this sometimes happens on Spotify for a release's debut, and the true numbers are combined. HOWEVER, it is very unusual for the clean album to be the one with the higher total, so MAYBE the clean number is the actual combined one. HOWEVER PT. 2, it was actually the clean version of the album that was pinned on her profile, and there is a +20K liked tweet about people listening to it by accident... so it is also a strong possibility that the numbers are truly separate. So it's either an 845K partial day, or 545K partial day.
Jennifer Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 BDay (the 10 track standard edition) is still her best piece of work. It’s nonstop phenomenal. Self Titled is a very close second, also a masterpiece but does have a few filler tracks. Then I’d put 4 > DIL > Lemonade >>> SF Renaissance is competing with 4 for the 3rd spot.
CrimsonX Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 alien superstar slaps. only song i've heard so far. just got home from work. so far so good.
