Beyoncé - 'RENAISSANCE'

Virgo’s Groove is absolutely ridiculous. It’s growing on me the most out of every song with each listen. With AirPods it’s just ethereal and insane. The sort of deep disco you get from Kylie’s Fever or Robyn’s Honey. I get a pinch of French house from it too in the production. But it’s all so layered and intricate and Bey’s voice being an instrument too that she rides it in a much more soulful way than the other examples I used. Truly black women reclaiming their genre.

This album reminds me of ST. A very long album with multiple highlights and every song has a lot to offer. It’s gonna take some time to fully digest :jonnycat:

Yeah listening to this brought me back to 2013 when selftitled dropped. Just a whole experience :jonny:

Are you choosing to be delusional? I see 95% praise for the album, especially on the last 20 pages of this thread. Go stream Dancing With a Stranger or something, the girl needs it.

The album is amazing! I adore Bey, but even I'm surprised that this has shot straight in as one of my favorite albums from her. It's like she just gets....it!

Everything sans BMS and Heated reached the top level for me :jonny2: I'm surprised she kept some generic drake outtake in the middle of this masterpiece.

I wonder if this will surpass ST as her best album in the long run. It definitely completes trinity with Lemonade.

It's crazy how direction matters. Bey worked with the same producers as Chromatica andmade a record of the same genre. Yet Renaissance is God-tier meanwhile chromatica is mediocre at best.

Both are amazing

It’s actually a really good Drake song though and I think it serves a purpose to give the album legs if the public use it. Plus the whole last minute was worth it :ahh:

I don't like most of this, it's very rap styled which is what I didn't want, the songs that aren't like that are ok but nothing special. She needs to make pop/R&B like everything before Lemonade. She should have gone full Disco or like what Bruno Mars does. Cuff it is the best and the only song I can imagine having any success on the charts. I think this will drop off the charts really quick.

It just feels kinda reductive, cause you can tell it has some afrobeats era Drake vibe even without looking at the credits :swan: It's not off putting, but it doesn't add anything to the album that is already pretty long
