LanaXtinaFan Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Y’all see something new and shiny and so quick to label it her best album. This ain’t her best album, not even close. Mediocre at best.

You need more time with the record before you start labeling it the best This is just hype of something new. You need to let that fade away first then judge.

Taz Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Okay brothers and sisters........... I GAVE UP. I intend to listen again only tomorrow, so let me just throw some random/initial/fleeting thoughts: First of all: SHE. IS. *******. INSANE. Obviously not a suprise, but yet another Beyoncé album that could be done by no one else besides Beyoncé. This shis is a hell of an experimental experience, full of Beyoncé idiosyncrasies but at the same time full of unexpected turns!!! As I expected/hoped for, Break My Soul is the most obvious choice as a single (maybe the only one besides Heated?) I'm That Girl is not in your face as most of us expected (I guess) by the title, I was kinda surprised by its tropical vibes. I absolutely ADORE her flow/delivery here. She's telling you she's that girl but keeping that self-sabotagé Parkwood ghost persona Alien Superstar is AN EXPERIENCE. I paused before the 0:30 mark and considered starting a react channel on YouTube, just to record the moment. The pre-chorus/chorus is CANDY, the verses are BEYONCÉ, just WOW Idk if this is because I only listened to it once, but I feel like the samples/features are, except for one or two, almost unnoticeable Plastic Off The Sofa is absolutely NOTHING like Rocket. Definitely slows things down (with Church Girl kinda), but still a very danceable moment. It also gives tropical vibes, even more than ITG (I lost it when she said "you're cool - but I'm cooler than you" or something like that Heated is (not surprisingly if youre a Beyoncé fan) a beautiful moment. She made it a multidimensional song, and it's probably one of the songs that fits the most into what popular dance music means nowadays. Move flows into it so naturally I almost could see Bey thinking of putting them together on the tracklist Thique is..................... WOW. It's definitely the song that made me think the most about THE CLUBS. That moment where things are getting kinda dark but also you can't stop dancing. It might make me wanna try new drugs AUIY/AHAP is Beyoncé proving again why her musicality is incomparable, spectacular, she can ride any beat etc. These songs are everything I wanted to hear from B as we move forward in music. These are proof that she is still THAT ***** in the 21st century, and that SHE KNOWS. Miss her with your career strategies, SHE ******* KNOWS. Pure > Honey (both gorgeous) The I Feel Love sample in Summer Renaissance!!!!!!!! Not only her singing it's so good, but also the synths at the beginning.........WOW!!!!! My least favorite so far are Cuff It (I know this will change in a minute) and PFTS, I feel like besides BMS these are the "most tradititional" songs Definitely a homage to the history of dance music, but I think it pays homage to the underground origins of dance music more than anything, that's why it's so rich, and full, and unpredictable. It's an album where you can expect the unexpected, as it has been with Bey in the last years She is, in fact, THAT GIRL Standout track, centerpiece, the reason why the album exists etc.: Spoiler VIRGO'S GROOVE Spoiler When she sang "You are the love of my life" I thought about all my life choices to make sure I'm decent enough to be her fan
Triton Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 When she performs Blow and Cuff It live on the tour and start belting… You! Cuff cuff cuff cuff it baybey! While I buss it buss it buss it for you baby! Anywhere anytime I don’t mind! I feel like falling in loooove! I’m in the mood to **** something uuaaap!

Pandora Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 PURE / HONEY isn't just a career highlight... it's a career gag. this whole album is a GAG
Jaay Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I picked only one to listen to pre-release so I picked Summer R and I LOVED IT. Are other tracks on the album like that? I mean WOW

It really does feel like Beyoncé’s Confessions on a Dance Floor but with a lot of extra collaborators serving as background for the song. An hour long ballroom moment as opposed to a disco ball dancefloor. And it’s everything, Bey shines on every song without a terrible Jay verse or unneeded feature Yes! No unnecessary features, no melodramatic Sia/Ryan Tedder ballads, no sad Heaven moments... just wall-to-wall bangers with sexy, experimental beats, talking her ****. This is what I've been craving since Self-Titled. She got wilder and looser, thank God.
Pandora Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 no girl Sumer renaissance..................... I CANNOT
cayonboxhearts Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 the gibberish she was spitting on HEATED she's so silly
Taz Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 (edited) Okay but I CANNOT EVEN FATHOM BEYONCÉ PERFORMING THESE SONGS LIVE LIKE WHAT IS THIS CRAZY WOMAN GONNA DO??? Maybe that's why there are no visuals this era, not even her could think of a way to bring these songs to life Edited July 28, 2022 by Taz

It feels like there’s nothing to detract from Beyoncé herself here. Like it’s her moment alone and she’s saying and doing whatever she wants

IMadeYouReadThis Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I have so many opinions on this album, but for now all I can say is she truly did that!
