Because that’s exactly what it is. And hive are expected to bite our tongues like always because otherwise we’re called aggressive, told we are off-topic, vitriolic, insecure, uneducated, given WP’s, and banned from the site for responding to it. It’s been that way for many years and it doesn’t look like it’s about to change anytime soon.

Idk I consider myself both a monster and part of the hive but it’s hard not to see the similarities between Chromatica and Renaissance both seem to about healing through dance music/liberation on the dance floor. Neither invented dance/house I think we should celebrate both projects/women because I think it’s amazing to have mainstream artists bring back dance music! I send all my love to those who stan both Bey and Gaga, that’s very cool. But there is no need to bring Chromatica into a thread dedicated to Renaissance, especially when people are aware of the stupid propaganda relating to the two in the base threads. It’s done with the attention of trying to bait and switch. This is an album thread dedicated to Renaissance and only Renaissance. Beyoncé is about to draw extensively from the zeitgeist of black history and culture as it relates to house and dance music, something Gaga could never and will never relate to. There is no comparison to be made here.

House was invented by black queer people. What we are about to hear and witness from Renaissance is a homage to their art, influence, and lives. If Bey is sampling and collaborating with these iconic black artists, it’s done with an intention to retell and document their impact. These samples and collabs are not going to be flimsily put in there for mere artistic effect and grandiosity. And that’s why I take huge umbrage to this comparison with Chromatica. You can think Chromatica is a good album, but it’s not the same thing and there is no comparison to be made. The comparisons are insulting, ignorant, and unsubstantiated.

Even if there are similar producers, just the samples alone would tell you the sound will be nothing alike. And we all know Beyoncé’s artistic vision is on another level. They need to let it go and let the album come out first. And we still don’t even have a visual for the era outside of the album cover.

The last few members who have brought up Chromatica have been completely complimentary of Beyonce while doing so and have been met with unnecessary vitriol by some insecure Beyonce fans. It’s not out of cuff for people to draw comparisons between two 90s house inspired albums by two of the biggest and best pop girls out there right now. Enjoy the week up to release and don’t let a comparison get yourself worked up so much.

This forum has been shut down multiple times explicitly because of the racism posted on this forum towards Beyoncé by that fan base. Do not insult us by pretending that you had no idea the fan bases disliked each other. You literally just commented in the single thread where there are multiple banners addressing Gaga/Beyoncé fans arguing in there. Not to mention you're a moderator of this forum, who has access to the reports. If you were met with vitriol to a comparison, then maybe you should've taken a second to think of why.
