Thank heavens for that!

(I am not against them and their music; I just really don't like their stans.)

Their stans will remain

Hopefully it's a one direction kind of hiatus.

Not some of y'all reaching the levels of obsession of some ARMYs tracking what this stan has said about it. The joke writes itself. :dies:

The only reason I’m remotely glad about this is because of their insufferable stans.

But I can’t imagine how they’re feeling right now, if my fave retired or went on a hiatus, I’d be really sad.

BLACKPINK GET UP

Right we need that comeback asap :deadbanana2:
ot: that’s unfortunate but at least they’ll continue to make music solo tho

Boy bands only last about five years, they knew their time was almost up and best to capitalize now for solo careers. It will be a bloodbath to see who emerges as the breakout act. My guess is none will because none of them had really established a presence outside of the band with the wider public. Justin Timberlake and Harry Styles were already much more famous than any of the BTS boys before their respective boy bands shut down.

It will only be a 1D kind of hiatus if one or more establishes a successful solo career. If they all bomb to oblivion we will definitely see an attempt at a comeback as a group. Whether or not their primarily teenage audience will still be interested at that point...

Y'all really need to stop comparing western groups to kpop acts...

I obviously meant as a big mainstream act in the west. Their first charting single on the Hot 100 was five years ago.

A more fitting example, as they're a kpop-group as well: Big Bang recently made their comeback with their first single in like four years and it peaked at #1 in Korea

their fanbase is going to eat each other alive during their solo eras…
