My friends and I spent every day partying and listening to UV nonstop that summer

What a great album :heart2:

I'm not that fond of the album, I only like like 4 tracks in it

iconic, incredible album :clap3:

just did a full listen while i did my philosophy reading response and it has aged like a fine cabernet. easily her second best after NFR! and just evocative of such a hazy, sun-drenched atmosphere :wanda:

The release of Shades of Cool was one of the best days of my life

the summer it came out i would hook up with this guy by the poolside (we’d pool hop late at night) in like a pretty upscale area of bethesda and we’d smoke weed and blast it all night long and skinny dip, it was a fun time for sure. wonder what he’s up to these days… i think he was my original summerboy lol :eli:

Brooklyn Baby was my original fav, and then it became Shades of Cool, and then Black Beauty, and then Old Money… now i think it’s probably Money Power Glory. ugh so many brilliant tracks the whole damn way through :jonny5:

@BlackoutZone any interesting tea we haven't uncovered yet? For example, does an alt version of Cruel World with the added intro actually exist? :gaycat6:

Absolute masterpiece. And what a statement sophomore album. Still her best next to NFR and HM :jonny5:

Masterpiece and her best album. That era was such an experience as well.
