Oh, she’s got more chances to win an Emmy or a Tony for performing than some others that have failed and been criticized off of acting because they’re plain bad. So funny you were complaining about Asian representation in the US charts yet here you are, showing your true colors by questioning a black women win.

Just splashing around money or writing tons of performance text doesn't work, otherwise countless producers and script/song writers would have achieved EGOT status by now.

 

And besides not all of the four are equal — Oscars and Grammy's are more prestigious than Emmy and Tony. And JHUD has both of those "queen" awards as a performer. That is pretty much the highest prestige an actual talent can ever achieve.

I know. It was nominated/won a few regional awards but the fact that it got completely shut out of the Oscars was... weird. It was definitely the kind of thing the Academy loves (biopic of an icon and a musical). Plus, Jenn already had some Oscars cred so I thought she at least would get a best actress nod. But anywho, she made it to EGOT all the same. Congrats to her.

How does questioning Jennifer Hudson's win automatically equate to questioning a black woman's qualifications? That user you're responding to is usually pretty objective so I wouldn't necessarily conclude it's an attempt to undermine her for that reason.

No there are less than 100 artists, one award away from EGOT. And good amount of them are dead, past their prime, retired or have tried to get that last one but failed. 

 

31 are missing Tony 

26 are missing Grammy 

37 are missing Oscars 

10 are missing Emmys
