Also Womanizer (Dance - Pop) was #1 on BB when Just Dance wasn't even top 40 :cm:

:clap3:Gaga did confirm Britney inspired her. Makes sense.

Cyndi is wrong as she HERSELF brought dance pop back into mainstream with the iconic Bring Ya To The Brink :jonny6:

Madonna, Rihanna, Katy, Britney, Bey, Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, and a billion more Pop stars were all smashing with Dance - Pop songs in 2007-2008 :rip: The monsters acting like Cyndi Lauper is some industry expert when these are just straight up facts. :cm: she was the most popular dance artist in 2008/2009 duh but dance music was all over the charts before she made any impression

Very true. Cyndi is fond of Gaga so maybe that helped make her decision.

I think Blackout was the start of the shift technically. The dark electro dance pop blend really inspired a lot of artists at the time. Gaga just came with RedOne & blew it up.

Gaga definitely popularized the sound, but as others have said the trend was already clearly rising within the industry

The way this forum either thinks Gaga is the reincarnation of Jesus or a has been who hasn't had any impact in the industry at all is so bizarre.

If you look back at the early 2000s the first name that comes to mind when you think of Dance Pop is Gaga why lie?

At least you admit you're trolling.  12M in album sales, hit #1 in the most countries ever, a lead off single hitting #1 in the most countries ever and best selling tour of 2006.
