The girls are pressed over Doja and it’s easy to see why. She can switch between genres effortlessly, sometimes in the same song. Need to Know is rap btw

NTK is still that song :jonnycat:

It sure is interesting how the Billboard awards didn’t nominate her in any of the Rap categories for Artist, Songs or Album and neither did the American Music Awards. :celestial5:

I see you didn’t answer my question though.  What other Pop song out sounds like NTK?

And why did it end up in Rap category at Grammys?

Answer my questions first, and then I’ll get to yours.  :celestial5: :coffee:

What is there to answer? Ya are clinging to that sole nomination at the Grammys but yet she or her label

submitted her album into Pop.  :skull:

Billboard didn’t nominate her in any of the Rap or Hip Hop categories like Cardi and Bodak Yellow were. It seems like her status of her Rap is questionable among the industry and apparently among her label considering they are constantly submitting her body of work into non Rap categories.

Like how you’re clinging to Billboard? :skull:

The same entity y’all were mad at for her being listed as R&B?!  Now, they’re the source of all truth?  Pick a side.

:ahh:

Im also using my TWO EARS to determine the genre.  No other Pop artist has released a song this explicit, with a Trap beat, and with two Rap verses.  Saying it’s pure Pop is a STRETCHHHHHH and you know it.

I mean, I don’t blame you…I’d find anything to hang on to too, if the chick y’all claimed not to be worried about is snatching records left and right like this.  :rip:

She is more R&B/Pop than Rap :skull:

Billboard is the reason why she is deemed successful as they are the only music publication to measure success and her music is simply not a factor on the Rap or Hip Hop songs chart because either:

A. Hip Hop and Rap stations don’t play her therefore not enough points to chart :michael:

or B. Billboard doesn’t deemed her as such. :michael:

Why would they when she or her label submitted her entire Body of Work into “ Best Pop Album” at the Grammys when she had a better chance at snatching the Grammy award for Best Progressive R&B Album the same category Lizzie won  :toofunny3:

Ok, but we’re talking about THE SONG.  Not the album.  The record she broke was for a song.  Not sure why you keep screaming: “pOp AlBuMmm”.  No one is even discussing/debating that

Her label ALSO submitted her to RAP category for “Need to Know” + it seems they agreed enough to give her a nom.  No? :coffee:

She can’t help that her album was eclectic and individual songs can be categorized under different genres lol.

ANYWAYS…on another note, it’s crazy how she broke this record literally just under a year.  :clap3:
